Hey all! Well...as you know I've written The Searcher and Something Beautiful, which was a little filler story that follows The Searcher but not a true sequel. I'm now posting, drumroll please, the start of the big ol' sequel to The Searcher. I'm not finished, but I decided to start posting it now since I'm going to post it in chunks. I think it'll be easier to read 5-10 pages at a time rather than, oh, 70. ;)
Note 1: This will not make all that much sense unless you read The Searcher, which is posted in Red Sands. You can take a shot at understanding it, but I don't think it'll make much sense.
Note 2: This is a bit more explicit than The Searcher. No profanity, no sex, but descriptions of more disturbing scenes than in The Searcher. This is, after all, a war. Not pleasant. I would say that parts of it can veer closer to a PG-13, but maybe I'm being overly cautious. Just a warning.

New installment! This one...it gave me some trouble. It may seem that I'm spilling the whole secret/mystery all at once, but I have some more things up my sleeve than this. It's a longer segment, but I just wanted to get this particular part over with all at once. It wouldn't have made much sense to separate it.
This part is rated G to PG, nothing much going on that's cause for worry. Enjoy and let me know what you think! :)

Rynorean, I'm so glad you picked up on the change in Renee. That's exactly how I wanted to portray her...hard, cold, and angry. And I'm glad that you care about Zebbie's fate as well...we shall see what happens to him!
This next installment is a little over 6 pages long and so far it's one of the most enjoyable scenes to write and one of my favorites to reread. I hope you like it! (By the way, a song woven through here is by Radiohead I believe. It's call Optimistic...in my stories when a song is bold and italicized like that, it's not really being sung by anyone in the scene, it's just there as part of the narrative.)

This next installment is very very quick, which is good for busy schedules! It's not even two pages long, but I felt that it was important to have this here by itself instead of combining it with the next section.
This is a little...edgy? The details aren't that edgy, but the idea is, and it will be addressed later. It'll be interesting to see reactions to this one. Enjoy!

Here's a question for you: The next section could either come all together in 7 pages, or I could divide it into a posting of 4 pages, and then a posting of roughly 3 pages. Which would you prefer? You want it all together or chopped up? I ask that because there are parts that it could be divided easily, but I wasn't sure what was preferable. Let me know! :D (Hehe, if I get the same amount of "votes" for each, I may have to flip a coin. :P )

oh you get the sympathy from me with the allergies. usually at the mo i would be on heavy antihistamines (dont know if i spelt that right) but cos of the pregnancy i didnt want to chance it - might be just me worrying but oh well better safe than sorry.

Well, one big one sounds good to me too. :) A bunch of stuff going on in this one, but mostly a transition piece. I think it's edited properly, but I'm still in the throes of a cold (don't think allergies would make me feel this bad) so who knows, haha.

Hehehe I'm glad you liked hearing about the bros, and I'm glad that that part made you laugh Rynorean! :lol: I almost edited that part out, glad I didn't. :)
Just a few things: In this next chapter, I used those big walker things...you know those big machines that would tramp around Mars shooting lasers at things? Well, I couldn't remember the name of it so I went to Stoker 1439's page and found a little blurb about it there...apparently they're called Sand Raider stilt walkers but Stoker1439 is the one who came up with the name. I just wanted to credit him for the name, I didn't make it up! :) Le Chic does not steal! ;)
Also just to let you know, this may be the last post for awhile...because this is all I have written so far! I was pretty good staying ahead of the game, but haven't really written much new in awhile and the posting caught up to me. So it may take a little longer...but I'll hurry!

Hehehe, curve ball! ;) Well, I'm still working on writing the next part...as final papers and final exams start cropping up it might be hard to write but I'll definitely try to get it out there asap! I have everything mapped out in my mind so hopefully it'll travel along quickly.
While you're waiting, I would love to know your guesses...Vinnie and Thrash seem to know who this mouse is, but what do you think? ;) I would love to hear your predictions.
