For some reason I poked on the http://www.bikermice.tv website and when I scrolled a little downwards I was totally suprised with a very strange mouse. When I viewed the image and saw the filename I was stunned.
It means Harley would be in the new series! :D
She does seem to look a lot different then what was shown in the old series. Wauw, really would be a cool suprise! And finally get an answer to what happened with her after Mace kidnapped her in 'Once upon a time on Mars'?
*big grin* she ain't even looking that bad either, heh.

Criterion, care to give a clear answer on it? ^^
Edit: second picture here: http://redplanet.sytes.net/viewtopic.php?p=9499#9499
Unfortunately, I don't share you view on her looking good. :'( *goes off to mourn the lack of actual feminine traits in the new series*
*chuckles* She could use some, but still I don't think she looks bad ^^ Or is it just the fact because I'm a male mouse ;)
I keep wondering though, what about Mace? I'd be eager to know what happened to him too.
If that's harley.....
Mace must have used a lawn mower to cut her hair.... maybe face too.
she looks mean. Not that pretty soft spoken thing from Once Upon a Time on Mars...,
what has Mace done to her? *Glares at the rat*
Mace smiles. "Aw come on, Looks what ya made me do ta Throttle and you're complaining about Harley? She looks better than I'd imagin tho."
Damn, that rat has a point. She does looks better than what I'd thought Mace would have done to her..... which leads to another question.... What side is she on?
What side is she on?
Interesting question. The phrase 'Stockholm Syndrome' springs to mind.
Love the hair. The costume is way, way, way too comic book superhero and I'm not big on that mask.
Nice to see another old character making a return. I think )
She definitly dosn't look sweet and innocent anymore.
She definitly dosn't look sweet and innocent anymore.
Who would after probably spending some time with a rotten, sub-rodent scumbag called Mace?
I agree with some of the things being mentioned in ths thread. She surely don't look sweet and innocent anymore (note the dagger or whatever she's carrying around her right ankle). I also agree with that the costume is way too much comic book. Screams X-Men/Fantastic Four or something. However, I do can understand this particular radical change as we have no idea what Mace has done to her or what actually has happened ever since she disappeared. Having her returned like this definitely leads to the question Whipblade pointed out: What side is she on? And Prodigal Fan's "Stockholm Syndrome" is indeed an interesting question that springs to mind.
Now let's wait and see what the future beholds...
And another picture has been added :o This picture is without the odd shadows and makes me think wether if this is from similar material as her uniform or (even more stunning/thrilling,) flexible faceplate which she personally gave to Vinnie in 'Once upon a time on Mars'.
This is absolutely one episode which has to be watched!
I'm sorry but I tried. I really tried. I liked her so much in Once upon a time on Mars but now I've lost all my love for her. I am aware of the emotion she must have felt during her captivity and who knows what Mace or anyone evil did to her during that time but that is no exuse about that hidious look she has now. Still I hope she isn't all to bamage. I do hope Vinnie will be ok with all this.
I do hope Vinnie will be ok with all this.
Vinnie's reaction is something that concerns me, too. Anyway, I've stated elsewhere that I don't have a problem with the new look characters (and even prefer Charley as she is now) but I'm not happy about this one. Besides, her return would play merry hell with my fanfics ;) Still, we'll see what happens in the episode. Open mind and all that.
*shakes his head* Again I feel I'm around the only one who'd not mind it that much. Am I that easygoing with... changes?
Yes I know she's looking way different, and surely there's a good reason for the totally different look. But how much can we judge on two stills from a episode which still has to be aired? Even though the new series may not be as good which some claim, ya should see things from the 'inside'.
And the known quote you can only fall in love for the first time only once is very true, but at least I give them a honest chance.
Yep, I got a few characters in the new show I don't like at all and would love to see them wiped away from existance... so it's not that I like all of it ;) (Even though it's the same with the old).
Anyway, I know I can't change what you feel for anything and I respect your choices. Just trying to voice out it's not 100% which doesn't "like" her from what we can see from these two pictures.
And I am confident some of the 'new generation' will have a liking to Harley.
As an end-note, I'm just thrilled even for the thought we might get an answer from what happened to her and what the meeting with Vinnie will be like.
*thumb up to Criterion!*
I do have an open mind about anything in the new show. New styles, new stuff and all that. I can't really say much about Harley's personality but I can however have a mind about her looks from the pics I've seen so far. To me that is not Harley. About Charley...well, that isn't her either. I can accept it but it doesn't mean I have to like it.
*nods* yer absolutely right. Forcing an opinion upon someone is just as wrong. Hoping at least I'm not doing just that.
My early favorite female mouse was indeed Harley, and even though that got a little changed during the years she's been always one of the favorites.
Somehow I do still feel it's Harley, but time having been though on her and forced to change in some fashion.
Probably also a reason I write so much about it here, now.
I do hope this will not cause any to leave, it's the best fandom around I'd never want to see *poofed* into nothingness.
And no, nothing gives a more shivering feeling that the very first glimpse in the pilot, the huge region of space.
Aaaand, here's a flashback pic:

Well, things would have to be really seriously wrong before I abandoned the fold (again) - and I can't imagine that happening any time soon.
However, I shall wait and see what the actual episode(s) is/are like before making final judgement.
O.O Oh...Who destroyed her?! She was better looking in the old series!! WHAT HAVE THEY DONE?!
Join the club, Little Ash. ;)
Alot of people have the same feelings, but not all of them will admit to it.
And to be fair, there are things that I do like, but I think some things could be edged away from the extreme fringes that they hang on. They were too brawny in the first series, OK, I'll buy that. But then it's like a 180 degree extreme to the other end of the spectrum.
Harley was nice looking. Now she looks like she belongs on stage with a bunch of punk rock rodents. Not every girl in the world likes that look and I'd just like it if there was a more realistic line drawn to balance on instead of the 'super thin, punkified, no feminine traits' line it's on now.
And no, that's not meant to insult the character designers, it's just how I feel when I look at the new style.
I don't mind the punkiness (but being a goth punk with not so much emphasis on the "goth" I'm kinda biased). Just the mask and the outfit bugs me. I even like that dangly bit of hair no matter how unlikely it is P
And those fracking high heels. If se's going to wear an outrfit like that she could at least have boots that makse sense )
I really want to see this episode. I'm sure there is going to be one heck of an explanation for the new look.
I also hope Mace and Harley are going to be regular characters on the show. Cataclysm needs a serious villain on his side!

I'm very sure of it. Or else Harley had just joined some punk rock group on Jupiter or something? ;)
His side? Mace has never been on any side but his own. I doubt that would ever change.
wow harley is looked different than old serise , she was nice than new serise , but when i watch old bmfm , and mace grabbed her and we didnt know where she is , but until now we found her in new serise , i wonder what happened to her when she kiddnappes by mace , and what happen to Mace , i wondering what will happen to bros & carbine knows about Harley she is a life ?i wish i can watch but i live in middle east i cant watch all epoisde of bmfm 2006 :( , could please tell story me what happen with her harley when you watched ?
That image so made me cry (though in my mind's reality, it's understandable as to how knows what Mace had done to her that made her change so drastically and all that jazz, but then and again...), and that's the final straw. I mean, THAT'S IT! I had had enough with the new series and I want nothing to do with them anymore -and I seriously mean it. No sarcasm here, and no joke.
Adieu!
That's harley???? That made me cry. She was one of my favorite characters because she was sweet, compassionate, understanding, yet somehow had her own set of morals and a sense of strength. Unfortunately, the artists messed her up.... badly.
Not only did they make her completely ugly (I also liked her because she was pretty) they also made her into the stereotypical anorexic skank like they did with so many other female characters of the new series. I'm getting sick and tired of this. I mean how dare they portray us women like that??? It's that darn hollywood paparrazi i tell you.
*sigh* If only they kept the original designs and continued with a new plot... that's what they SHOULD have done. To be honest, technology designs and clothes didn't really change much since 1994. How many civilians and army members really dress like the jetsons or typical overdone heros straight from the comic book?
The artists who drew these series needs to be fired. NOW!
That's your choice, Stormy. A change in anything always will get in touch with folks who wouldnt want a change at all.
Mid, you only saw two stills. You still can't judge of what her personality is from it. Ofcourse you can make guesses, but I'd give them a little slack before you have seen it with your own eyes.
Firing them? I doubt it would change much and besides, it's the same studio who did the old series; PASI. Even if the style is not to your liking, the quality of their work is not bad, personally.
Change indeed is a thing in which one group of fans can cope with some/most of the changes, and some who don't. I give the example of Star Trek. When Star Trek - The Next Generation came into the known world there was a lot of opposition. Ofcourse it didn't made everyone happy, but that's a choice some made.
If the new series is bad or good, that's for everyone to decice for themselves. I'm sad some take it so drasticly, but I will keep loving your thing for the fandom, even if it's only for the old one :)
The story is alright, but yeah. :P
I do think that if the style was toned down a bit more people would be forgiving of it.
*hugs Stormy and Midnight 'cause, like her, they probably need it*
I dunno why I let it get to me so badly, but every time I see a new redesigned character I get acid reflux so bad I need to drink half a bottle of antacid to combat it. :P
I don't like the new designs much either, but the story and dialogue are still great.
All I do is watch the new espisodes and then pretend that everyone still looks like they did in the old show (except for Charley and Carbine - I love their new looks).
Imagination - best tool in the world ;)
Err - she's reminding me of Grace Jones, is that weird?
You know I don't love the thought of Harley coming back - what about Vinnie and Charley?!
Grace Jones! Of course! I knew there was something familiar about her! (I remember seeing video footage of her doing a charity event - she was singing something or other and put her foot on a chair to expose her leg - the chair promptly fell over and she spent the rest of the song trying to sing from the horizontal position whilst laughing hysterically... anyway, that's beside the point...)
Anyway, the Charley/Vinnie/Harley love triangle thing is a source of concern to me too, since I remain convinced that Vinnie and Charley were made for each other. Oh, so many questions, such a long wait for the answers! [8]P
Why we old timers love the old series so mutch might be cause the drawing style back then was more realistisc. The men looked like men and the women looked like..duh, women. Now they have more of a unisex/genderless thing going on and that bugs most of us.
Personaly I can owersee the the new style ( I am more interested of the plots) but I don't know for how long. I might get tierd of the many errs they make and just stop watching. This gives me the impression of todays cartoonartists being lasy. It was much better "back then".
About Harley (again) I do hope they make her lose that ghastly mask. It doesn't matter what outfit she has on the rest of her. Add that mask and she lookes like one of those show-wrestlers. And those I really hate.

Well that's... different :o
