For all of you old fans the good news is that thanks to the success of the new series GMTV has bought the original series.
The first Ep will be on air this Friday at 07.55 on GMTV2/ITV2. First up will be Rock and Ride. The initial run will be probably be 6 Eps on weekdays only through to Friday September 15 and then returning with more Eps from about late October.
The fact that a broadcaster as big as GMTV is prepared to revive the old series sets a good precedent for the same happening in other countries.
Criterion, what are you doing to us, I'm already on a huge shortage of DVD+R discs *smirks*
Damn, is so good to hear that! :D The old series will only give Biker Mice from Mars even more popularity. Though I hope some fans wouldn't get confused (a bit), seeing two series airing at the same time :)
WOO HOO! It doesn't do most of us any good but WOO HOO! Anyway! At last, they see the light!

I don't even know GMTV but I send them hugs. ;)
*wonders how soon she should start stockpiling video tapes* :D

Video tapes are prehistoric. It's DVD-RW nowadays or recording raw data directly from the satellite onto a hard drive. Gotta love modern technology :)
But I don't -gots- one of those. (Or the money to buy one)
So VHS would have to do.

Bro, I wish they broadcasted raw data over satellite :D They are sending it often in MPEG2, and a few times in MPEG4. One or two channels (on Astra at least) are broadcasting in HDTV (1080i).
I agree that VHS is just, out of date. It's much more userfriendly then DVD+/-RW's but just too crappy quality nowadays. The other better solution would be a HDD recorder, but like the better DVD recorders, they are a bit expensive.
So what is available in the US that I can bribe you with to get "Caveat Mentor" and the first episode with MacCyber in it?
Oh, to have access to ITV2 :'(
You guys I'm sure will be pleased to hear that oroginal series is now rating exceedingly well in its 07.55 slot on the GMTV2 digital service.
The biggest irony is that it is achieving more than double the ratings that Jetix is, who had it in their library but let GMTV2 take it because they said it wouldn't work. It is also beating the CN & Nick channels! It is level with Disney and only beaten across the whole of its Ep by C5 & CBeebies who by definition have a younger audience who either go to school later or may not even be at school yet!
Criterion, I am delighted to hear the ratings are flourishing!
From our point of view the CITV/GMTV2 schedule is perfectly timed -- I can still walk both littlies (Minorjamma is 7; Tinyjamma is 3) to school in good time once we've watched the latest episode.
Don't know quite what passers by make of them, though -- today their war-cry was 'Well pull my tail and call me Squeaky!'
It sounds as though both the old BM and the new are bedding in brilliantly.
And re the irony, it's always nice to be able to prove someone wrong when they are... well, wrong!
'Well pull my tail and call me Squeaky!'
Good for them! It's a phrase which had served me well.
Still, their teacher might want a word with you if they come out with one of Vinnie's finest: "Imminent anihilation! I live for moments like this!" Or start calling people "Babe" and "Sweetheart".
Heh, it's cute when those kids start to do that. And wow, it's damn good news both series are doing so incredibly well!
And yeah, I'm enjoying it all like the same too ^^
This is all great news :)
And to be level with Disney is great.
I can tell you that Cbeebies is defently for pre school children.
It's a favourite of yours, is it SpaceAge? ;)
Most definitely :)
No I have a niece who watches it...
Really...
Speaking of series one on itv2, is it getting stopped showing next week? Just I was looking in the planner to see which episode was getting shown on monday, and biker mice wasn't there, a totally different cartoon was in its space. Same thing on citv :(
Well, Criterion said they (CITV) was only going to show around 40~45 episodes, and it seems that's been broadcasted.
I'm really hoping they will broadcast 'Once upon a time on Mars', but I just don't know... :(
We'll check with GMTV tomorrow. At the last count they had bought 53 Eps from Series 1.
The plan is to run the first 13 Eps of the new series as a strip on GMTV2 up to Christmas - looking at a calendar that certainly leaves a gap about now.
I'm going to have to stop watching this topic before I descend into a jealous...
53? Then I wonder when they will broadcast the rest. They have aired till now; 44 episodes. Episode #01 to #46 and skipped Steelfinger and Chill Zone.
But it's great nevertheless CITV had bought these episodes and let everyone who can receive the channel enjoy it! :)
And I was wondering. Why did they bought 53 instead of the whole 65 package? I don't think it would be that much more expensive? And at least 'Once upon a time on Mars' is a very important episode which everyone should see :)
Dunno...maybe they found the content objectionable now? *shrugs*
I don't know how different things are over there about political correctness...over here I swear that it stifles people.
Could have not bought the recap episodes. That shaves a few off right there. Though I thought "Villian of the Year" and "The Tribunal" really good for recap episodes.
Yeah, could have been that as well. :) I didn't think of that. (But then, I haven't seen it in so long that I couldn't remember if there were episodes like that.)

CITV have shown Villain of the Year. Didn't spot The Tribunal but with the credits being missed off a lot of the episodes I may well just not be matching up title and story...
And... Boo! Hiss! :(
if it's true that after this week we'll be BMFM-less on CITV during the week. We need our fix!
The Tribunal had the Biker Mice on trial for use of excessive force. To prove the case, clips of old episodes were shown. The prosecutor had been bribed by Limburger, so the bros got off.
Hi KLC!
Now that sounds familiar. I can't be 100% sure I saw it this time round, or first time round :D but I think The Tribunal's one of the eps that's been recently aired.
GMTV2 bought 50 in the end. The good news is they have more than one run of Series 1 the Plutarkians.
It will be replaced by a run of ATOM, before Biker Mice The Catatonians returns with a 3 week strip in December at 08.25.
Thanks' for letting us know Criterion.

Why buy 50 out of 65? Sounds silly to leave 15 eps out when they could get the complete package and do a proper job with delivering the entire old success instead of some 77% of them.

This is good news. Who wants to do some taping for me?
