Letting Go. Part One
“Hey Vinnie you’re gonna be late bro what’s the hold up?” yelled Throttle from the bottom of the stairs as he a Modo just smiled “well who’d have thought it huh Vinnie being the first to take that long walk” said Modo as he heard Vinnie crashing about trying to get ready “aint that the truth” Throttle said with a chuckle. “Ok, I’m ready so bro’s how’d I look?” Vinnie asked standing there in a black tucks with the grin that only Vinnie could have.
“Like the mouse that’s gonna be late for his own wedding if he doesn’t get a move on soon” said Throttle… “bro’s bro’s chill we’ll get to the church on time you just see” said Vinnie “yeah well we better or we’re all gonna get it” Modo said with a half smile….
“Oh! you look amazing hope he knows just how lucky he is” Said Carbine
“You really think so?” Charlie asked as she stood there looking in the mirror at her self wearing a strapless white dress “you kidding,this will be enough to shut even Vinnie up” Carbine said with a giggle hummm wonder what the guys are doing better not be anything crazy Carbine thought to herself “wow Charlene! You look beautiful I’m so happy for you I cant believe this is all happening” Charlie’s mom said with a tear in her eye & a huge smile on her face, “oh mom please don’t cry you’ll get me started and I’ve just had the make up done” “oh pish I’m allowed to cry a little my baby girls getting married today” she said with a wave of her hand “Now lets get this show on the road shall we, we have a wedding to get done.”
Meanwhile:
“well if you stopped moving I wouldn’t keep sticking you!” Modo said as Vinnie looked at him for the seventh time of sticking him with the pin “There got it” Modo stood back to take in the look of his handy work with a nod a smile.
“Vincent look I know when you first told us we were shocked but really we couldn’t be more happy for you guys if anyone should have this day then its you we’re so proud of you bro & here we got you a little something” Throttle said handing Vinnie the gift “ah bro’s you should have! ahhhhhh you didn’t!!…..you did!!….. man you guys are the best!” Vinnie stood there holding the gift they had gotten him a home made video of when he & Charlie had their first date. “man that takes me back” Vinnie said “we’ll guess we should get this done huh” “After you my good mouse” Modo said followed by Throttle
“What’s taking her so long?!” Vinnie whispered “relax bro she’ll be here” said Throttle then as if on queue the music started the doors opened & there she stood. As she made her way towards Vinnie he stood there mouth open “wow” echoed all three mice Carbine shoot Throttle a look that told him to snap to it & soon enough the wedding was done.
“Charlie mam’am congrats’ Modo said as he kissed the bride followed by Throttle who threw in a big hug to go along with it. “Wow so ‘Mrs’ now huh not too shabby” “hey bro I only take the best you know that” Vinnie said with a sly grin “oh um Mrs Davison” Vinnie stammered “please it's Anna or even mom if you like we’re family now boy you had better take of my baby girl” she said with a mocking tone & a big smile Vinnie looked at Charlie he gave her a gentle kiss & a hug “with my life…mom” she blushed " now I guess all that’s left to do is throw the biggest party this side of Mars."
Next day in the score board:
“Oh man what a night” groaned Throttle “I didn’t hear you doing too much complaining last night” Carbine said still with her eyes closed laying next to him “hey with you around what would I have to complain about babe” Throttle said with a cheeky smile “Modo you up big guy?” “Yep wonder how the newly weds are holding up this morning” “with any luck better then last night did anyone see how Vinnies head got stuck?” asked Carbine “yeah think one of the guest put it there” said Modo all laughed “we should go open up for Charlie help her out while there on their honeymoon” sounds like a great idea babe, what you think big guy? asked Throttle “yeah hey I’m all in lets go” said Modo.
“Hold up,somethings not right here” Throttle said as he saw the back door to the Last Chance opened. He signaled to Carbine & Modo into flanking as they all moved quietly to the door Modo with his arm cannon at the ready Throttle & Carbine with their guns, “ok we know you’re here get out here now with your hands up!”yelled Throttle “ok if you say so.” Said a female voice all three mice looked at each other, then slowly out of the shadow a figure came into the light “Harley!” all three said at once all dumbfound, “hey guys” she said with a smile “w-w-w-what are you doing here?!” Modo stammered “we thought you were dead” said with shock at the sight of her “I managed to get away from Mace & when I found my way back to Mars I was told that the three of you we’re now here on Earth & I just had to find you after all I have a wedding to plan” she said looking about “um,where is Vinnie?” Carbine,Throttle & Modo all looked at each other “um Harley babe…” Throttle said gently “oh no he’s not dead is he?!” Harley said looking like she was going to cry if he said yes, “no, no nothing like that sweetheart, he’s fine,” he said scratching the back of his head trying to find the words “its just that’s he’s um…..” “on his honeymoon.” Carbine finished for him, Harley looked at them stunned at first “oh very funny”she said laughing “you guys almost had me for a moment” as she looked at Modo he just kinda looked at the ground,Throttle looked away to the side but Carbine looked her right in the eye.
“he’s married?! b-b-but he asked me to marry him!” she said as she started to paste up a down muttering to herself shaking her head, Modo put a hand on her shoulder & gently turned her round “Harley, you’ve been gone for six years, we searched all over for you but couldn’t find you, Vinnie was heartbroken he never stopped hoping he’d find you,but he had to move on…” “but we were ment to be he gave me he’s word he’d never love anyone other then me”she said almost angry “her names Charlie,” said Throttle “they’ve been together two years and got married yesterday their on their honeymoon now” “where are they?!” she asked “look they’ll be back in two weeks you can talk to him when he gets back but in the mean time just stay put, that said hansom I gonna head back to Mars I’ll see you guys soon ok” said Carbine she hugged Modo then Throttle & gave him a kiss.
“think she’s gonna be ok?” asked Modo “in time I guess it’s a shock to her but we got work to do.” said Throttle.
Two weeks later:
“oh it so way babe” said Vinnie as he pulled into the Last Chance “oh sure”Charlie rolling her eyes “humm well good to see the place is still standing, hello anyone home”she called “heyyy if its not the newly weds welcome back” Throttle said as he made he’s way out to greet them “hey hey bro did ya miss us? mainly me?” asked Vinnie “oh like a headache” said Modo as he came out to join them “welcome home Charlie mam’am” “thanks guys” she said pulling them both into a hug “hey we got gifts from Holland one for you & there’s where is it oh there it is one for u big guy” “thanks” they both said “so anything big happen while we were gone?” asked Charlie, “sweetheart, you kiddin they wouldn’t have fun without me right bros” Vinnie stated Modo & Throttle looked at each other “guys….” “well hello good-looking” said a voice Vinnie dropped the half dozen things he was carrying & just stood there mouth open “H-Harley?! is is that you?! it cant be,but but I huh!” “I've missed you too baby” she said as she pulled him into a hug then a very long kiss “hello am I missing something here?!” said Charlie as she stood there with her arms crossed her foot tapping “oh um yeh,um no I mean sweetheart babe t-this is um this is….” Vinnie stammered “this is Harley, um Harley this is Charlie-girl um my wife….” The two women stood there not saying a word to each other “oooh boy” whispered Modo Throttle just gave him a nod “Well its nice to meet you” said Charlie as she put out a hand to shake with Harley who just looked at her “I guess so” Harley said as she turned to walk away Charlie looked at the three mice & Vinnie gave a nervous chuckle “she just a little tired” said Modo “she’ll be fine I’m sure she just needs to rest” “aha & does someone want to fill me into what she’s doing here?”
“she said she came looking for Vinnie”Throttle said “but don’t worrie she knows you guys just got married” “oh well thanks that makes me feel better about the kiss” Charlie joked “ooohhh hey sweetheart you know I only have eyes for you right babe” said Vinnie as he pulled her close to him.

Part Two
Later that night:-
“Well that was a great meal babe” Throttle said feeling the most full he had in a very long time “yeah I’ll second that I haven’t had eats like that since before the war started back on Mars” added Modo “why thankyou” Charlie said with a smile “hey bros if you think that’s good wait till you see what’s coming next” Vinnie said giving Charlie a ‘come here right now’ look “ahh guys do you gotta do this right now we’ve just eaten” joked Throttle “hey what can I say the ladys smoking,so Harley babe any luck working out what you wanna do?” “what you mean ‘what I wanna do’ I thought Id stay right here I mean I have my own things to settle here” she said looking at Charlie Modo noticed this “Limburger right?” “right” she said with a sigh with that she got up & walked out leaving Modo Throttle Vinnie & Charlie wondering what was wrong with her, I need to think of a way to remind him Harley thought to herself surly he can’t have just forgotten what we ment to each other but how to get him alone & away from ‘the little woman’ “hey everything ok with you babe?” came a voice “oh um yeah I’m fine just need some air I guess” “you know we’re all real happy your ok right?” Throttle said as he made his way over to her sitting down next to her “yeah you have no idea how happy I am to be here,it’s just….” She looked at him thinking of a way to put it “I just cant believe he got married to someone else” ‘hey you have to let this go Charlie’s a great girl & Vinnie loves her she makes him happy, don’t you want him to be happy?” “oh course I do I just always thought it’d be me that made him happy” Throttle gently put his hand under her chin & lifted her face to look at him “you do make him happy, you always will he’s just not the same Vinnie you knew back on Mars, believe it or not he’s grown up & changed but you’ll always be in his heart & that will never change Charlie knows that” “Throttle, where would I be without you?” she smiled & rested her head on his shoulder together they looked up at the stars. A short time later everyone was back inside & watching the Tv well Modo had his nose in a book but Throttle couldn’t stop thinking about how sad Harley seemed to be “hey I got an idea..” said Vinnie “oh great is this one gonna be any better then ‘lets race around like loons till we crash again’ “ asked Charlie “funny, no this ones better,” he had that odd look in his eye as in something crazy was going to come out of that mad head of his. “we switch” he said “switch?” Modo said looking up from his book “switch what?” “date’s” Vinnie said “um bro there’s only a few things wrong with you’re plan” Throttle stated “oh yeah & what’s that bro?” “well other then you none of us have a date” Charlie looked at Vinnie trying to work out where he was going with this plan “I know that what I’m saying is that its not that hard right I mean well I got Charlie then there’s Harley here Modo & you “ “aha & just how to you figure we’ll do this dear hubby of mine” Charlie asked “well sweetheart you have girlfriends don’t you?” Charlie looked at him not sure about what she was hearing “of course I do what you want me to do ask one of them to come over to be part of this?” “bingo babe, knew there was a reason I married you & it wasn’t just for your killer good looks honey” Vinnie said laughing “I dunno guys it just seems a little off, I mean what’s the point of it whoever goes with either you or Charlie wont really be having a date unless you guys are going together” Modo stated “trust me bro everything’s gonna work out” he said fixing a look at Harley.
About a hour or so later everyone was in the kitchen Charlie had called her friend Angel over “ok now here’s how this is gonna work we all get paired off into dates & the object of this is to see how much you can find out about that other person in the space of one hour then after you come back change dates so everyone gets a date with everyone else & let the other couples know what you’ve found out” “so how do we work out who’s going to be going with who then wise guy?” asked Charlie suddenly feeling more then alittle uneasy about this plan “easy sweetheart” Vinnie said with a wink & a smile we draw the names out of a hat. “& what happens if you & Charlie get paired together?” asked Throttle “well that ones easy I get to make out with my wife for the next hour” he said with a dirty smile on his face “oh mama” said Modo rolling his eyes “ok so we all agree we meet back here in a hour yeah” everyone agreed.
“wait who’s gonna pick the names out?” asked Modo “I’ll do it” said Vinnie . ok here we go Vinnie pulled out the first name “ok Throttle…. & your gonna be with….. Angel. ok step over there, then ahhhh Charlie baby your lucky date is gonna be with.. Modo. well guess that leaves me with you sweetheart” he said looking at Harley “I guess so hansom” she said looking at him intently. Vinnie kissed Charlie “see you in a hour sweetheart try not to miss me too much huh” “oh I think I’ll live” Charlie said playfully.
This is my chance Harley thought to herself now all I have to do is get him to remember. “ok well um this is….” “yeah” said Harley cutting him off “guess we should talk” “thinking we should”…..
Throttle sat down next to Angel not quite sure what to ask her first they started off with where they were both from & then out of the blue she asked “is it hard being away from what’s her name Carbine? I mean its not like your gonna see her everyday” Throttle sighed “yeah it’s hard but I think we both know what we have now well it’s not gonna last forever, but somehow I think we’re both gonna be ok with it I mean I’m always gonna love her that’ll never change but it’s just too hard being this far apart” “but what happens when you go back or if you go back” Angel asked “well I guess we’ll take it up when it happens, but you really did a half moon salt of a turn buckle once?” Throttle asked her in shock “yeah I really did, but that was nothing you should have seen the time me & my brother had half of NYPD on our backs for skydiving into Times Square man that was nuts” this women is crazy Throttle thought but I like her.
Meanwhile:
“ Sweetheart she’s not a bad person once you get to know her your gonna love her trust me on this one” Vinnie said “but you gave me your word that you’d never love anyone but me” Harley was standing with her hands covering her face fighting back the tears “& a part of me never will. Harley you were the love of my life the first girl I ever loved the only girl I ever thought I’d love but when you we taken I died that day I never thought I’d see you again what was I ment to do put my life on hold?” “I would have at least until I’d found you again!” stated Harley “It’s been years & I think we both know you wouldn’t have, look I wasn’t gonna say anything but I think maybe it’d be better for all of us if... if ….” “I went back to mars?” she said for him “is that really what you want?” Vinnie looked at her long & hard he could feel all those old feelings he had for her rushing back feelings he thought were long dead & before he knew what he was doing he’d pulled her to him as they locked eyes he whispered “never” before kissing her so deeply he thought he’d be lost in her forever as the fury between them grow & grow he wanted her so badly he could taste her, Harley stood up then stripped off leaving Vinnie to take in everything Vinnie seemed to be in a haze of lust as she pulled him down onto her he couldn’t take too much more then at last he gave into her fully.
A time later Vinnie lay there holding Harley close to him “wow” was all he had to say “humm I second that wow & I’ll raise you another go round” Harley said looking into his eyes she saw a sadness in them “Harley….” “what is it hansom” she said running her finger along his strong chest Vinnie got up & got dressed, then turned to her he gave her a gentle kiss “so do you want to tell Charlie we’re leaving or should I?” she asked Vinnie looked at her for a moment then down at the wedding ring on his finger “sweetheart you know I’m always gonna love you right? but this, what we just did…. this was a one time only deal” Harley looked at Vinnie trying to work out what he was saying “what do you mean, I thought I mean we just.. & you just….” “Harley its not gonna be ‘us’ leaving it’s gonna be just you babe, this was good-bye I can finally let you go” Harley by now was dressed “let me go? but I don’t want you to let me go I want to be with you we belong together Vinnie we always have why cant anyone besides me see that?!” “I’m married Harley!...” Vinnie said shaking his head “I’m married & I love Charlie my life is with her now that’s the way it’s gonna be so please just let me go we both need to just let go” “Noooo! I cant I wont, I love you Vinnie”
Throttle & Angel had been standing in the door way watching Vinnie try to tell Harley it was really over when he walked up to her & put a hand on her shoulder Harley spun around to see who it was “Vinnie’s right babe,it’s time to let go,we’ll always be here for you but you need to move on”
