So, you think you are a true blood Biker Mouse? If so then this competition is just for you.
Beginning today, (Monday 30th June 2008), and ending Thursday 4th September 2008, this is your chance to show, that you are real fans of the Biker Mice From Mars.
The Competition
To put it simply, you guys have the oportunity to write a fanfiction, *What* I hear you cry *is that all*?, well no is the short answer.
Your fanfiction must be no longer than 8,000 words and must be based as close as possible to the 1990's BMFM original series.
You may base your fic on any season from the first series, but you must use only CANON characters, this is to ease judging.
For those of you unsure what we mean by CANON, we mean original characters only i.e Throttle, Vinnie, Modo etc.
We're looking for a fic that is as close to a 30 minute episode as possible.
Any style that will allow for commercials and opening and closing credits, it will need to be rated G of course for TV viewing.
We are not looking for speed writers, so please don't feel pressured!
After the closing date, there will be a three week period where both myself and Whipblade will judge the entries.
THE PRIZE
The winner will get themselves made into an original character, with fanart drawn by Whipblade and a fic written by myself, Vinnie Van Daz, around that character. There is also the possibility of a mystery prize to be donated by Criterion, (The owners of the Biker Mice franchise), but that is not for certain yet!

My problem just is going to be the names for the characters **blushes** - as far as I can hear we have changed many names for the persons in denmark.... Including Thottle's name twice

Wow that great .. i would to join to the competion .. but even my level in english is poor is fine? but i am good at drawing and writing facition... can i ask you ... is ok to add my characters pattymouse with orginal characters to join the story.. becuase i like to be with in team bfmf.. well .. is interesting i will join with you.
Thanks for your interest in what is our first competition patty, but unfortunately for this competition we are only using canon characters, however, don't get too upset, because I have an idea for another writing competition, in which we will be allowing made up characters to join with canon characters.

Not sure when the next competition will run, hopefully as soon as this one is done and dusted we will begin with the new competition, where made up characters are allowed alongside canon characters.

Orhhh thank you Daz - I see that it luckily not is that many characters as I could fear that had a name change. Throttle have and the tunnel rat but the others on that list is the same

Yes - Throttle only got his rank in the new series, the Freedom Fighters having been presumably reformed on a more official basis.

Typically a 30 minute episode is only really about 22-23 minutes long (due to commercials). A typical script is about a page per minute.

Unless you've changed the rules and forgotten to tell me cmpettion winners are decided by member votes so technically there's nothing stopping you from entering and voting, as I never stopped anyone from voting for themselves etc ;)
Status is: brainstorm level. I have to warn that bros will be based on 90's Finnish dubbing... English of course but the original voice work isn't familiar with me at all. :S
Hey not a problem, as long as we get the gist of it and it looks like an original 90's episode, that's all that we ask.
I have also spoken to Torama, (Website admin), who has now just ramped the pressure up for you guys, as it appears that I will after all be able to enter my own piece in the competition, so with that in mind, I have re-written one of my old fics, Return To Sender, espescially for the competition.
I don't think that it has much chance of doing any good as it is less than 3,000 words long, but who knows?
And for those of you who are crying fowl, the competition winner will be decided by everyone, as it will be done by a voting system, and none of us will be able to vote on our own submission.
Question (not that I'm sure I'm going to be able to come up with anything as in the middle of new job/new house scenario) but curious minds need to know - does the bad guy have to be cannon as well? What I'm getting at is Limburger pretty much came up with a new henchman each week, can we come up with a new one or does it have to revisit one of the old villians?
Good question, but I would have to say, for this competition just use old enemies, as we may run a 'New Enemy' Competition at some point.
I can't actually stop people from voting for themselves, but I don't see it as a problem. Not many people vote for themselves (I can actually see who votes for what :P) and the majority will like what the majority likes :)
I'm the only one that doesn't vote in the regular competition, partly because I lack the time required to give each entry the attention it deserves in order to make an informed decision and partly in case there's a tie that needs to be broken.
