(ooc - *giggle* poor twitchy Derek XD)

As Derek was telling his story Starzone brought him a coffee and gave it to him, then retreated a little way and leaned against the arm of the chair as she listened, carefully sipping the thick black concoction she had made for herself that smelled like it could start and launch a ship into near orbit. The idea of chainsaws on rifles sounded remarkably hazardous and she said as much in a conversational tone.

She perked an ear, and then her antennae flashed in short, sharp staccato bursts. A slightly irritated look crossed her face, quickly replaced by one of sardonic amusement.

"The boys are outside freakin' out. Can they come in? Or we go out?"

-=o=-

Byte whooped gleefully as Rav'una landed back on the ground with her prize. "Sixteen point two three nine seconds!" she cheered, bouncing excitedly and for a moment looking 12 instead of 18, hinting at a childhood surrendered.

"That is why I'm not putting money on it. Bags not telling Malki her record got broken." Chip folded his arms and appreciated the view from behind Rav'una, keeping well aware of her movements so that he would look innocent if she turned towards him.

Byte looked witheringly at her brother, crunching into the rest of her apple.

(OOC: XD! He’s not twitchy, he’s just...er...uh...Know what? I have no chance in heck defending Derek there. You’re right, poor twitchy Derek...XD!)

The coffee Starzone gave Derek was a welcomed thing indeed, especially since his brain was still switching to ‘wake up mode’ and relaxing enough from all the hard work his dream had put it through. Now telling his story had started to make it hurt but coffee usually fixed that right up.
True, chainsaws and guns should never be combined but Derek did explain that they where modified quite well into the guns and proved very useful, if not rather messy, in a close combat scenario (OOC: Gears of War proves that quite well...XD).

Derek still wasn’t used to the whole antennae reaction the inhabbitants here seemed to have quite commonly like an every day event, which probably indeed was the case as far as Derek could tell, but he was getting there. Chuckling a little as he guided the coffee back to his lips with a smile he nodded some, sipping at his coffee before then responding “Whatever’s more conveniant I guess. If you want to let them in by all means, let ‘em in”

*Insert comic styalized page turn effect here.*

Rav’una chuckled in amusement at Byte’s child-like enthusiasm and felt suddenly refreshed from the usually firm types she seemed to hang around a lot. She could get used to this and maybe this was exactly what she needed. Some time off and around some jolly enough to remind her what excitement felt like.

“An achieved goal and a newly broken record?” Rav’una began with a casual calm, smirking confidently and with amusement as she added proudly “I really have outdone myself this time. I am most pleased” It was then she noticed the way Byte was looking at Chip and her expressions went suddenly blunt as she turned herself casually to face Chip, giving him a rather suspicious frown. “Enjoying the view?...” She noted, having caught a glimpse of him and his admiration of the view from behind, Rav’una in turn biting a large chunk out of her apple as she kept looking at Chip with that frown of hers.

(OOC: XD! My isn’t Chip bold? ;P

Hmm, Interesting. So I was finding the right thing after all, just was a little...confused apparently, lol! Now I have learneded something new ^..^. I have much to learn of this. Now that my interest is peaked and it’s all your fault :P.)

"It's your bolthole." Starzone puffed her hair out of her face, only to have it resettle back exactly as it was before she'd puffed the lock. She wandered over to the door and palmed the touchplate beside the door, which slid open, revealing an irate looking Trajectory and a miffed Streak. Starzone motioned with her head and retreated back into the room. The boys followed, Streak first and without hesitation, Trajectory more slowly.

Streak crossed the gap to Starzone quickly and looked like he might grab her but paused uncertainly. Starzone took the last step required to close the distance and leaned against him, resting his head against his chest. Streak wrapped his arms around her, nuzzling into her stubbornly spikey mane. Starzone smiled contentedly. Something happned and the tension left Streak's shoulders. He turned to Derek with an easy smile.

"Mornin' sunshine," he greeted playfully, still holding Starzone.

Trajectory's antennae flashed.

"Don't be rude," said Starzone.

Trajectory sighed, hissing through his teeth, then spoke aloud. "You shoulda called me."

Starzone shrugged. "Derek's cool. So's his emo half." She grinned and winked at Derek. Trajectory sighed again, softer this time.

"Mornin' techy," he said flatly.

-=o=-

"Huh?" Chip was all wide-eyed innocence when Rav'una spun around to glare at him. Byte on the other side looked both amused and exasperated as she finished her apple and hooked it into one of the nearby compost bins. She paused, one hand reaching up to her head, a motion she quickly turned into playing with her plait. She then turned to Chip and Rav'una.

"Commander's free," she said cheerfully. "C'mon." She led the way with a happy spring in her step. Chip grinned at Rav'una and hurried after his sister.

Byte led the way through the not-that-confusing-when-it-came-down-to-it labyrinth of tunnels up to the meeting room. Byte tapped completely irreverantly on the door. "Hey Commander!" she yelled in.

Strike, who had been looking out the window, smiled in amusement and turned to face the trio. "We're in a good mood this morning," he observed. "Come on in."

“I guess...” Derek chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck with an almost cute looking smile before settling as he watched Starzone go over to the door to allow the other two in. He wasn’t too sure how to recieved the looks on their faces and kept quiet as they entered, offering only a light wave as they came into closer view. Apart from that Derek pretty much waited for the right moment and time to say anything, if need be. One of Derek’s old habits one could assume.

“Mornin’ Streak” Derek smiled with a greetful nod, chuckling with a shake of his head as he started feeling a little more at an ease himself. But Trajectory, typically firm as always apparently, made Derek’s unease return pretty quickly and it was obvious he was a little more than just slightly irritated. This was concerning to Derek but he decided not to butt in.

A smirk slowly crept into Derek’s expressions at what Starzone had called his other half, thus showing he was amused. “’Emo side’?” Derek laughed “Don’t let him hear you say that” He winked back in a friendly manner. Yet again Trajectory’s bothers became the cause of Derek’s unease but this time he was a little braver about it. Still, he kept his mouth shut. The last thing he wanted was to say something stupid and get his face smashed inside out.

“Well about time you greeted me” Derek smirked at Trajectory, confidence blooming to normal again, and with a chuckle he added “Good mornin’ Trajectory”

“Hey look guys, if we worried you and all I wanna be the first to say sorry” Derek went on to explain, feeling it was the right thing to do “It wasn’t in our intentions, I’m sure. And if I knew it was going to make someone mad I wouldn’t have honestly asked for the help. Oh and Starzone?” Looking at Starzone now with an apreciative, friendly sort of smile Derek continued in a softer tone “Thanks. For helping me out and all” By now Derek was recovering full memories of what happened in the dream, even when Sydonai was out and up front which was surprising but then again strange results often come from dreams and/or dream-like states.

Meanwhile...

“Hmm...” Rav’una’s tail gave a bit of an awkward twitch in its swing, an indication that though slightly iritated she was going to let that slide. And actually she did end up smirking at Chip’s whole reaction the moment he scurried off to follow Byte and with a quick roll of her eyes and a shake of her head Rav’una muttered in amusement to herself “Men...” before proceeding to follow Chip and Byte.

Of course meeting someone higher up was nothing new to Rav’una so she remained reletively calm. However on the other hand she had never expected to be meeting with the Commander and it did make her a little nervous. Especially if he knew what she had done to Byte, or almost done to her...

In any case, Rav’una entered the room confidently and calm, her hips swaying casually as her stride and she held herself quite proudly in her entrance. Once within the right range of the Commander, Rav’una decided to show some respect and gave a very tribal-esque salute and bow, professionally and smoothly done before straightening her posture to that proud and casual calm position once more.

“Well met Commander”

Trajectory looked like he was on his way to a scowl but aborted, turning away with a slightly reproachful expression.

"You eaten?" Starzone said to him. Trajectory shook his head. "Let's go eat. Star training straight after and then you and me are goin' for a workout."

Trajectory grinned. "Now you're talkin'."

"C'mon Derek." Starzone slipped out of Streak's arms, but maintained a grip on ihs hand, leading the way towards the door.

-=o=-

Strike gracefully acknowledged the bow. "Welcome. I don't believe I've had the pleasure." He looked to Byte.

"Rav'una, this is Commander Strike. He's in charge of the Tir. Sir, this is Rav'una, latest crash victim." Byte responded.

"We're gonna haveta start checking the planet for magnets," Strike smirked. "Take a seat. Anyone up for coffee?"

"Coffee!" Chip replied, raising a finger.

"Yes please!" added Byte. The two of them entered and sat at the conference table, Byte motioning for Rav'una to come sit by her.

Chip and Byte's comms blipped. They both glanced at their wrists, then each other. By some unspoken thing, Chip started fiddling with his while Byte paid attention to what was going on.

Again Derek chose his words and actions wisely from this point on, especially since also he was only just starting to learn what triggered off his...’alter ego’ situation. With Starzone, along with everyone else, now heading out to grab some chow Derek slipped out of bed, gesturing for them to wait a minute.
“Hold up, just gotta slap something on, I’ll be five minutes if that!” Derek said before scurrying off into the bathroom, a bunch of objects being moved about heard for a good few moment and some sprays to go along with it before like fresh again Derek stepped out in his usual attire, trenchcoat and all, with a grin.
“Much better” He smirked, following everyone then to wherever they where getting some food from.

“It is an honor to meet you Commander Strike” Rav’una smirked in a friendly and respectful manner, showing her professionalism in every which way even as she kept her stride typical to her mannerism. Cool and proud with that sexy streak to it but the kind that made gave one the impression that she was a tart or the likes.
Sitting herself down next to Byte, Rav’una wasn’t obviously too familiar with this ‘coffee’ everyone seemed so excited about and even though it made her look like the odd one out she simply requested a glass of water. That was more than enough for her. Especially after her little dash against the clock.

The blips made Rav’una right ear give a little twitch and in an instant she homed in on what the noise was, glancing at Byte and Chip with a small and brief tilt of her head.

“Troubles?” She asked them before reminding herself she was in the presence of the Commander. Turning her attention back to Strike she went on to say “My appologies Commander. Do tell, why am I here?” Straight the point as always it seemed. But at least she was being a little more nice about it as opposed to when she first landed here.

She seemed to have two sides of her so to speak. The more placid, nicer yet firm side and then the side that always seemed to show the most being the more firm, borderline cold side with that firmer sense of mannerism and care when and if need be shown. For now she stuck with the first option.

Starzone and Streak looked amused when Derek finally emerged from the bathroom, Trajectory continued looking mildly exasperated. When Derek emerged he palmed the door and marched out first, tail swishing. Starzone and Streak ducked out after him and with Derek following they headed back towards the eatery beside the Atrium. On the way through Starzone fiddled with her comm, sending an alert to the triplets to let them know she was springing training after breakfast, then they entered the joint.

There was a buffet on, with an assortment of fruits from the Atrium as well as a few ham-like cuts of squids and other Martian wildlife, large eggs and some cereal type of things. Starzone led the way through, cheerfully picking up fruits while Streak and Trajectory followed behind, picking up a couple of fruits but more interested in the meat and eggs.

-=o=-

Strike rustled up some coffee from the coffee maker, obviously familiar with how everyone liked it as he threw three cups together without really thinking about it, then brought the little serving tray over, giving a cup to Chip and Byte and placing a mug of water in front of Rav'una before tucking into his own coffee.

"Thank you sir," Chip said, his tone teasing.

"Thanks Commander," Byte responded, finishing up with her comm and looking up. Then she answered Byte. "Nah, just a message from Starleader. Full star training after breakfast."

Strike arched an eyebrow. "Didn't take her long." He then turned and answered Rav'una's question. "I like meeting anyone the stars bring home in person, and also to hear about what they're doing on the planet, partly to make sure there's no immediate danger to the Tir resulting from our rendering assistance, and partly because I'm a nosy old man." He winked as the two younger mice chuckled. "Byte informed me that you crash landed while weeding out corruption in the beaurocracy." His tone suggested that he was familiar with that story. "Is anyone likely to be after you?"

By now Trajectory’s behaviour was starting to feel more like more show than action however that wasn’t to say that anyone should purposely try and get on his nerves. It actually started to amuse Derek that someone can everything so seriously all the time but at least he wasn’t about to tear anyone’s head off. Yet. And he has his good moments but something told Derek that maybe Trajectory didn’t like him too much. Or maybe this was just his usual way of acting toward everyone, or most everyone, in general. Either way Derek didn’t let his confident break and followed everyone out with a cool and casual stride.

In all honesty half of the stuff at the eatery caused Derek to look at it all in comically uncertain manner, even slightly disgusted at some of the more...unique looking pieces of food. So he decided to stick with the fruits and some of the more ‘normal’ looking meat. Although he was daring enough to try some of that cereal looking stuff. It became a little more difficult for him since he ate mostly meat a lot of the time but that didn’t mean fruit, technically, wasn’t a kind ‘meat’ product. At least that how Derek convinced his stubborness to eat something to shut his starving stomach up for a while.

.=o=.

Though formal Rav’una was also wild and this was apparent in the way she ate and drank, seemingly unable or not really caring to hold back her ‘wild instincts’ to tear into her food or, in this case, lap at her water like a large wild cat. Weather it was annoying, fascinating or just plane odd she didn’t seem to really care. She just did what she did to drink and followed her instincts. Which indicated strongly of the kind of upbringing her people must go through. Or maybe it was the way she lived most her life. Either way the simple things where starting to become more so like pieces to an unsolved puzzle than just natural actions and what have we.

She did remember to thank the Commander with a bow of her head, holding up the water a little before then going right into lapping at it. Maybe it was a good idea not to give her something hot to drink. Gods of Mars only knew what kind of injury she would caused her tongue to have...

“Training?” Rav’una responded, stopping for a moment from drinking her water, turning her attention to Byte. “I see...” She added simply, returning to lapping at her water again.

“Nosy old men often get themselves into trouble” Rav’una smirked, her tone playful even if her response was rather bold. Holding her cup of water between her hands and resting it on her right thigh as she swung one leg over the other Rav’una’s attention went to the Commander, this time with a more serious tone and her usual firm ways returned to play their role once more.

“I would not know of anyone in particular although I can tell you that my people have been at war with a particular race I am certain, from what I have gathered thus far, that your people are quite familiar with” Rav’una began to explain “To make a long story short we where allies with this specific race many moons ago. However they betrayed us, turned their backs on us and in turn sparked a war between us and their armies. We do not target those whom wish nothing of the war or even agree to it however we do target those who are quite agreeable to it and especially those who are a part of it...” Rav’una frowned as she went on to add “My ship was attacked by a rogue squad who must have been following me. Fortunately I survived however for all they know I could well be dead. But I am not one to jump to assumptions...”

Starzone suddenly and noiselessly appeared at Derek's elbow. "Take this one." She put down her plate long enough to cut off a slice of a large cut of unidentifiable meat and dump it on his plate. "It's part of the squid head. Really rich, lots of energy and nutrients and good stuff, but you don't need a lot of it. Very filling." She snagged another fruit, added it to her plate, then moved along and grabbed a mug of water from the drink dispenser, then headed over to a nearby table, closely followed by her boys.

Streak slid in first, Starzone shuffling in close to him. Trajectory hopped opposite as Starzone motioned for Derek to come sit by her.

-=o=-

The others barely batted an eyelid at Rav'una's consumption habits. Strike was silently glad he had thought to give her the large cup considering the shape of her muzzle. All he did was smile knowingly at Rav'una's comment before paying obvious attention while she spoke, various unreadable expressions flitting across his face as thoughts too fast to decipher raced through his mind. Both Chip and Byte watched Strike closely, occasionally glancing at Rav'una, neither interrupting. When she finished both turned to Strike, who was looking decidedly serious. Chip and Byte looked like they were awaiting orders.

"We here are familiar with a few non-Martian races," Strike said. "Mercurites, Pleaideans, Plutarkians, Themistons, Catatonians, and more recently an unfamiliar Lupe species as well as your lovely self. We're not sure how much is known about these races other than the Plurakians and the Catatonians outside the Tir. Do any of them sound familiar?"

Starzone would have startled Derek if it wasn't for some kind of hint within himself that someone was approaching. And so by the time Starzone was next to him Derek had already noticed, watching her a little unsurely about what she placed on the plate but in the end he smiled with a grateful kind of nod.

"Thanks, I'll try it out" Derek began, chuckling as he added "Especially after all we went through to get it. And what's better-" Derek smirked as he continued "-is that it's all pre-cooked thanks to you. Apparently."

He didn't remember much of what happened in the Squid War but he did remember, vaguely, a large blast of fire or two on Starzone's behalf which left the Squid rather cooked and well done.

Now sitting himself next to Starzone, Derek decided to wait until everyone else had started before starting to chow down on his meal. He wasn't as wild about it as Rav'una would have been but he too had his natural instincts and for a Lupe type as himself most food was better eaten a certain way. Heck, it isn't easy to eat politely when you have a snout like Derek's. For a Martian Mouse it was probably easier due to the obviously smaller snout structure but that's probably getting way into hardcore detail.

Meanwhile elsewhere in the base/Tir...

There was a point when Rav'una noticed everyone staring at her with what she figured where mixed reactions and she looked at them with a perk of her brow with a "What?..." as for her she wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary at all. Still, didn't stop her from continuing to drink the way she does and all.

Now that the conversation had once again started Rav'una held her cup, at first, rather calmly. But the very moment the word 'Catatonian' was mentioned out of pure reflex she applied pressure to the cup, breaking it with one firm press.

"Catatonians..." She hissed in a growl-like manner once Strike was done, her lip curled in pure disgust at the very name and the end of her tail twitching into brief curls with irritation she obviously held back quite strongly. Her expressions alone show the pure hatred she had toward the Catatonian armies and those she would call 'The tainted'. Those who where innoscent and as she had explained earlier.

She had heard of the Plutarkians and a few random others, although whoever this Lupe was probably was from Lupronian which, ironically enough, wasn't too far from her own planet. But they have had a strong respect for one another for some time now however Rav'una didn't explain that just yet. Typically she focussed on what needed to be talked about in the now and would answer questions accordingly and as they came.

"Not this one. Anything I torched got charred. Carbonated. Or something." Starzone grinned brightly, almost but not quite masking the serious undertones in her words.

No one was being terribly upper class about eating the meal, Derek's eating habits fit right in with the mercenaries.

"Eh Cyph," Starzone called as the sandy coloured tank on legs ambled over to join them with a plate loaded high enough to feed a starving family for a week.

"Cyph," Trajectory grinned and shuffled over as Cypher plonked down next to him.

"Hey Cyph," Streak added, smiling.

"Guys." Cypher smiled, looking almost like his brother, but still more serious.

"Where's the other two?" Starzone inquired.

Cypher shrugged, casually turning the motion into crushing Trajectory against the wall of the booth. Trajectory grunted something unflattering sounding in another language, his fails ineffectual as Cypher pinned him with what looked like no drama, up to the point where Trajectory cracked him across the leg with a tail, unseen but the whip crack and contact heard under the table. Cypher flinched, and Trajectory flicked his ear, causing him to flinch more.

"Slippery bastard," Cypher grinned as Trajectory continued eating like nothing had happened. Answering Starzone's question, he said: "With the commander."

"Found another stray?" Starzone half turned and winked at Derek as she spoke. Cypher hid his amused smile behind taking a decent sized mouthful of squid tentacle but the amusement reached his eyes.

"Something like that."

(ooc - fek, I had no idea that momentarily leaving my computer unattended and then having a cat fall onto my keyboard could trigger the right combination of keypresses to post the unfinished post)

"I see you're quite fond of our newest invaders." Strike handed Rav'una a teatowel for the gash she'd put into her paw from crunching the mug. "They go waltzing uninvited into your planet too?"

"Sucks to be them" Derek smirked in his own sense of serious yet not-so-serious sense of humor. Sure it was fairly dry in a sense but at least it was a good sign he was starting to feel like his old self again.

It was a good thing Derek's eating habits weren't entirely off the chart. At least it made him feel more comfortable about it after watching everyone else eat. It got to a point where didn't really care anymore and starting munching down on his food in a manly sort of way, comically exegarating (sp) it at one point with a macho sort of play-grunt. He had to chuckle at himself for being such a doosh.

"Yo Cyph" Derek waved, mouth full of food but none the less greeting him all the same, returning to his munching soon after the brief yet friendly greeting.

Derek nearly choked on his food at Starzone's remark, coughing a couple of quick coughs before glaring playfully at Starzone with a slight hint of his own hidden amusement as he jokingly threatened her with a piece of fruit. "Thoust be wise not to call me a stray or you shall feel the wrath of pineapple!" Obviously Derek was just being stupid but at least he wasn't offended. With a quick clear of his throat Derek then turned a little more seriously, but calm all the same, to Cypher as he brought his drink up for a sip and asked "So, who's the 'stray'? Better yet, what's the story behind him/her?"

(OOC: XD! So the lesson of the day is that cats are completely useless. :P)

Meanwhile...

"Actually no..." Rav'una began to explain, taking the teatowel and removing a small piece of mug from her paw with a quick yank, setting it aside and pressing the teatowel on her palm as she continued "We used to be allies, fighting side by side and even trading peacefully amongst one another. We had made an agreement that no innoscent ones shall be harmed. Of course with time some of the more higher ranked, whom kept the peace strong and structured the allegience quite well with assisting those in need in mind more so than taking what is not their own and destroying lives, where eventually replaced with those whom wanted exactly that. Greed soon took its toll and they turned their backs on us, sparking a great war that to this day has yet to settle"

"However we do not attack those who wish nothing of the war nor even agree with it. We target only those of the corrupted, the greedy, the scum of their species, in the hopes of eliminating all that is wrong and bringing back all that is right. Of course, this is a tedious and ever lasting process...And many have fallen by the hands of the so called "Claw Troopers"..." Rav'una curled her lip with a "Feh!" before adding "Cowardly Troops is more of an appropriate label. They lack honor, self discipline, respect...All that we have taught them has been almost all but lost along with what allegience we had. At least as far as their "Armies" are concerned..."

"I'm pulling rank." Starzone playfully ruffled Derek's mane, then promptly wiped off the excess product she'd picked up onto his trench coat.

Cypher shrugged. "Chip and Byte picked 'er up. Some kinda feline." He was mostly reporting to Starzone though he included the rest of them. "Apparently she jumped Byte, but we didn't have to kill 'er. Guess we'll meet up with 'em later."

"Mm." Starzone puffed the stubborn forelock that would not settle in any other position except for directly above and between her eyes. "Okay, training not directly after breakfast. We wait for Chip and Byte to report in first. You do realise I'm gonna flog you harder with the extra digestion time right?"

"Of course Starleader," Cypher replied with a deliberately condescending tone, grinning. Starzone lowered her head slightly, pouting. There was the sound of whip cracking and Cypher yelped, jumping up onto the back of the booth, much to the amusement of Starzone's boys and later some of the nearby patrons. "Bitch," Cypher glowered, trying hard not to smile. "Tail where I can see it."

Starzone's tail snaked up over her head and she smiled innocently as she bit into another one of her fruits. Cypher slowly descended back into his seat and resumed eating, watching Starzone carefully.

-=o=-

While Rav'una was talking Byte smoothly removed the broken cup while Chip replaced it with a tin mug of water. It was slightly harder to drink from Rav'una style but if she managed to crush it at least it would just misshape rather than break.

"So hear you on the honour and discipline thing," Strike murmured, more thinking aloud than anything else. Raising the volume back to normal speaking level, he inquired, "So how do you differentiate between those that are in it for themselves and those who may think they are acting in the best interests of their people but may not be doing what is best?"

"Ack!" Derek jokingly yelped, chuckling before then putting on a fake, and exagerated, Germen accent as he said "Nein! Not rufflez on zee fur!" before chuckled to a settled smirk, straightening his mane up some. "Oh sure, just use my trenchcoat as a cloth" Derek added with a roll of his eyes.

"Feline type?" Derek asked with a blink or two, rubbing his chin in thought with an expression to match as he continued "Hmm...Wonder if she's from our neighbour planet, Xa'rlu'k..." With that Derek's attention turned back to Starzone and everyone else at the table, including everyone in his attention zone. Training sounded like just the thing he needed and though he looked forward to it he also was kind of concerned about what would happen there.

"Here's hoping Mr Dark doesn't cause too much of a scene" He went on to note in a borderline muttering tone, exhaling then with a shrug before adding with a small smile "Personally I think it'll be fine. And good thing we have time to let our food settle first" Derek chuckled, finishing off his meal and washing down with a drink.

The whip crack sound made Derek's ears shoot up straight as he straightened suddenly with a slight startle, blinking some at Cypher's reaction before laughing along side everyone else, not just at his reaction but the scene in general. "I think I'm the only one who missed out on that" Derek smirked, feeling rather proud of himself.

Meanwhile...

Even a tin cup wasn't probably enough to avoid the wrath of Rav'una but as unconvenient as it was to drink out of at least it was reasonably safer. Reasonably so. By this point though whatever water was left in her cup from before was all over the floor and most of her lap. She wasn't so worried about that right now.

Rav'una's stare was quite serious but more so to show she was making, in her eyes, a valid point but she wasn't threatening or angry in her tone. She was instead wise but obviously the dislike of her enemies was quite strongly present.

"We differ them by those whom fight the war of no honor and those who do not and choose instead to make a difference or take no part in what is wrong. That, sir, is how we differentiate the two"

Eyes turned to Derek as he mused out loud.

"Sounds like ya coughed up a hairball," Streak commented, slinging his arm around Starzone as he leaned over to talk to Derek after Derek mentioned the name of the neighbouring planet.

"Byte and Chip said not Pleaidean," Cypher added after Derek had spoken. When he mentioned he was the only one that had missed what had happened, Streak once more provided explanation.

"Starzi has dis bad habit of goin' for the family jewels."

"It helps me and it controls the population. That's not bad," Starzone smirked, nibbling off the last bit of flesh off a fruit before replacing the core on the plate.

-=o=-

Strike looked like he was going to ask another question, but paused. Then he frowned and cocked his head, looking like he was trying to hear something a long way away. Both Chip and Byte leaned forward slightly, watching him carefully. Strike put a hand to his head almost unconsciously. "Cavalry, report to my office immediately," he said into the air.

Chip and Byte immediately stood to attention, waiting. Strike looked at Rav'una.

"Feel like kicking some Catatonian?" he asked, his casual tone at odds with the earlier military one.

-=o=-

The wrist pieces Starzone, Trajectory and Chip were wearing bleeped, and Strike's voice barked his order over them.

"Yes sir," Starzone said formally enough. Looking across at the other two boys she stood up. "You heard the man." Vaulting over Derek, she waited long enough for the boys to fall in before leading the way out of the eatery.

"You ride the waves and don't ask where they go."

"Heh, I get that a lot" Derek smirked, listening then to what was said and he seemed a little lost as to what Cypher had said. "You...kinda lost me there..." Derek admited openly, blinking some in confusion at what exactly he meant by that.

With a chuckle he turned his attention to family jewels notice and with a smirk he then replied "I'll be sure not to piss her off then" before taking a sip of his drink.

Meanwhile...

Strike's reaction caused a bit of a tilt of Rav'una's own head with a bit of a frown of her own but she figured it must have been something about what she said. Straightening herself up she rested back in her chair, one arm lazily lopped onto the back of it, one leg crossed over the other and though she looked calm she was trying to figure out what had just been sparked off.

Though Byte and Chip stood at attention Rav'una still remained seated, smirking in a calm yet satisfied manner as Strike asked her what he did. "I am always up for that" She replied, standing from her seat straight and proud as he tail gave a delighted sway, a purr even escaping her which was a good sign that she was eager.

"Just say the word Commander and I am there"

Meanwhile back over to Derek and gang...

"Alright! Action time!" Derek enthusiastically cheered, sliding from his seated position and hopping back up to his feet with a small bound, straightening his posture into a more cool and laid back manner but still maintaining his professionlism somehow with a grin to match.

"Time to kick ass and chew bubble gum...and I'm all outa gum" Derek smirked.

Corny. But Derek didn't seem to care.

Starzone stopped, causing a minor pile up which knocked her forward three steps. She turned to Derek with a puzzled expression. "Gum," she said, shaking her head, and then continued walking. Cypher and Trajectory once more fell in behind her, also shooting Derek strange looks. Streak took up the rear with Derek this time.

"Gum's edible on your planet?" he asked, looking slightly mystified.

-=o=-

"Good. Helps to have someone who knows them better than we do," Strike said.

"Cavalry reporting sir," Starzone spoke from the doorway as she breezed into the room, moving out of the way of the door so the others could come in. Trajectory moved to her right and stood beside and a bit behind her. Cypher stood level with Trajectory on her left. Chip and Byte moved to stand beside their brother, Cypher and Chip looking almost indistinguishable from each other. Starzone's eyes flitted briefly over Rav'una, she nodded slightly in polite acknowledgement before facing Strike with a mildly questioning expression.

"You ride the waves and don't ask where they go."

Having to stop suddenly in his paces, just barely avoiding slamming into the pile up caused by Starzone's sudden stop, Derek perked his ears at what he just heard. Surely he didn't hear that right.

"You...have never heard of gum?" Derek was shocked, staring in utter beffudlement at the mere thought that there was a planet that didn't have gum. It blew his mind! "Wow, I'm...just...wow..." Was all Derek could say before continuing onward as everyone continued to move forward.

With a grin Derek turned his head to look at Streak, responding with a nod or two then after with a smirk "Yeah but you don't swallow it. Bad for the ol' gut apparently. And they come all in kinda flavours too" Derek explain, turning his head so to face forward again Derek's frown took on a more puzzled style as he briefly shook his head and then added "How they figured cinamon flavour was a good idea is one of life's many mysteries if you ask me..."

Meanwhile...

"I will try and put such knowledge to propper use sir" Rav'una replied, placing her hand on her chest and bowing respectfully, straightening her posture back into that proud yet calm style of hers.

Nodding to Starzone in return in the same intention of polite mannerism Rav'una was starting to show that she was quickly starting to trust what was, at least for now, her new team. It was quite a surprise to be accepted so quickly but they obviously needed her and she wasn't about to let this opportunity go to waste.

Derek would follow in after everyone else, last in the door but keeping his confident cool as always. He just couldn't help himself and had to show his enthusiasm with a fist pump and rather enthusiastic "Alright! Time to kick some ass!"

He quickly corrected himself with a brief clear of his throat, standing at attention with a salute. "Uh...I mean, Derek reporting for duty, Sir" He grinned.

Noticing Rav'una, who in turn had noticed Derek, the two sort of stared at each other for a good minute or so before Derek perked a curious brow, raising his finger to a little bit of a waving point.

"I...don't know you, do I?"

"You may and if not you will soon enough" Rav'una responded firmly, her tail swaying casually behind her "Although judging from your appearance I would say you are from our neighbour planet, Lupron. Am I correct?"

"Sure am!" Derek grinned, to which Rav'una simply replied "Then we will have to talk of this later. For now we have more important issues at hand..."

Derek blinked some at Rav'una and the others, nodding once or twice with a "Right..." before, along with Rav'una, turning his attention back to Strike.

The others watched the exchange between the "aliens" with a mixture of expressions. Starzone was neutral, Trajectory mildly annoyed, Cypher mildly impatient, Strike and Chip amused, Byte and Streak curious.

"When you're ready," Strike commented. When he had their attention again, he leaned on the table between himself and the rest of the group and activated the holo projector. It spat up a hologram of the cliff area not far from where Rav'una had crashed. "Scout found a squad or so of Catatonians. Last transmission was picked up from around here." Strike waved his hand through the map and a blip appeared. "We've lost contact with them so not sure if they're pinned down or been captured or killed."

"We'll find 'em," Starzone said. It was a statement of fact. "What you want done with the cats?"

"Find one with brains and bring it back. Let Rav'una decide what to do with the rest."

Starzone glanced at Rav'una again, then back at Strike, her expression still neutral but somehow dangerous. "Am I deferring?"

Strike shook his head decisively. "Your run, Starleader. Seems like they're close to blood enemies for the lady."

Starzone nodded in understanding.

"They weren't able to transmit much in the way of recon. They found a largeish ship, a few bucket walkers, possibility of those four legged mech things. The ship was in an overhang. We're assuming a squad."

"Shouldn't be a problem. What does Rav'una do?" Starzone appended the question almost as an afterthought, glancing between her commander and Rav'una. Strike left a gap for Rav'una to answer.

"You ride the waves and don't ask where they go."

In all honesty the two did have a sudden sense of familiarity the moment the two set eyes upon each other, and naturally Derek took a moment in a time of safety to quickly look Rav'una over and would mentally nod an approval of a fine physique, but it wasn't anything for certain. If they had seen each other it was brief at best. Another mystery yet to be solved.

Derek didn't know a great deal about these 'Catatonians' although Rav'una obviously knew about them quite well indeed, shown in her expressions of dislike and the twitch of irritation in her tail. "So they were following..." She growled in a low tone, more so as a thought out loud that became a general public note for all within ear shot.

Rav'una and Derek watched carefully and listened equally as carefully at Strikes briefing, Derek not only fascinated by the gadgets that made this thing tick but also intrigued and actually concerned about what lay ahead. Rav'una, naturally, kept her ease and calm as best she could. Although that was easier said than done considering these were also the sworn enemies of her people and obviously herself that was being talked about. The fact that this squad had suddenly slid from the radar and away from communication was not a good start to the mission.

Letting Rav'una decide what to do with the Catatonians that were not needed brought a joyous smirk to her firm expressions, her tail swaying calmly in delight as it certainly made her day knowing she was going to be able to take down at least a few, preferably more, of her enemies down in numbers. And what's best is that she was doing it all for the right reasons. Indeed, this was going to make Rav'una's day.

Derek on the other hand was more concerned but kept his posture none the less, as well as his cool, throughout the whole briefing. He was starting adapt well to this whole war scenario which was ironic considering his background. Although he did wonder just how Sydonai would react to the whole thing. Then again...maybe this was a perfect opportunity to try that bonding trick Starzone hinted about in his dream. Which by now he was recollecting quite vividly. This could only mean that Sydonai was now starting to share his memories with Derek. A very good sign indeed!

Rav'una looked at Starzone as she had glanced her way but soon returned her attention back to Strike, adding with a small curl of her lip "That would be one way of putting it..." when he made mention of the Catatonians being somewhat 'blood enemies' to her. He couldn't be closer to the truth.

Derek remained quiet, listening and taking mental notes. So considering he wasn't making any smart ass comments and joking around meant he was taking this very seriously. There were times and places to be a smart ass and here wasn't it nor the right time. There were big things up ahead for the team and Derek knew better than to take this as a time to joke around and, to be blunt, be a dick.

Stepping forward and straightening her posture Rav'una took a hint and had her say in response to the question, glancing at Starzone and then guiding her attention to Strike as she gave her response and explination.

"I am more skilled in the art of stealth" Rav'una began in a firm yet calm manner "And so my best approach would be the silent one. If others are able to keep the Catatonians busy I should be...no, will be able to inflitrate the main base, if there is one, and head straight for our main target"

"I in the meantime will keep an eye out for repairs and can help by hacking into some security locks and all that fun techy stuff" Derek added, stepping forward as he did, Rav'una and he looking and at one another before looking back at Strike as Derek continue with a confident smirk "Should make Rav'una's job a lot easier"

Starzone's brain was going.

"Dismissed," Strike said shortly. "Bring 'em home."

"Sir." Starzone snapped off a salute, mirrored by Trajectory and the triplets, and then followed up closing her right hand into a loose fist, placing it over her heart and bowing her head. The others followed suit again, and Strike smiled slightly, looking concerned.

"Hopefully it won't come to that."

Starzone led the way out at a fast walk. "You guys suit up," she said to the triplets and Derek, "We'll meet you outside."

"Starleader," Cypher acknowledged. The triplets deviated toward the mech bay, Byte tugging playfully on Derek's tail to make sure he followed.

-=o=-

The triplets moved into the locker room first and foremost, shedding pants and Cypher losing his pocket laden vest, pulling on the blue-grey mech pilot coveralls and clipping on utility belts bristling with weapons.

-=o=-

"Anarchy," Starzone called as they entered the vehicle bay.

"Wired," Trajectory added almost immediately.

Two racers, one sleek, slimline cobalt blue and the other a beefier blood red model along the same lines, each flashed their lights respectively as Starzone called their names, their engines gunning loudly before settling into the purr of very well cared for machinery as they left the knot of vehicles parked for quick moving and puttered over to the three of them. Each bike bore a golden red-eyed hoop snake on each side of the fuel tank.

"Sounding good guys," Starzone said, patting each on the tank as they pulled up.

Trajectory mounted the larger red bike, smiling as he tapped the tank affectionately. Starzone hopped onto Anarchy, Streak sliding on behind her and wrapping his arms around her waist. "Ride with Traj," Starzone said to Rav'una, motioning to Trajectory as Streak was getting on behind her.

"You ride the waves and don't ask where they go."

With the Commander dismissing everyone after the briefing was over with Derek bow in the best way he could follow, trying to fit into the group and show his respect at the same time becoming more of a mimicking act than he wanted to be, which wasn't his intentions as he was just being respectful, though admitely he was still a little sloppy at it. Of course, as always, you wouldn't hear Derek admit it out loud.

Rav'una on the other hand didn't care being the odd one out and in turn had bowed in her sign of respect, again with that tribal-esque mannerism with that streak of propperness to it. It was something unique but certainly genuine, as well as intriguing. What was even more so however was when she stepped up to the Commander and took from a small pouch on her side a coin-like item, hand made but with an almost Mayan-look to it with a jaguar's head carved intriquetly upon one side. Reaching out and bowing her head as she respectfully took his hand she placed it on his palm, closing his hand gently and holding it between her own hands as she looked at him and explained "A token of apreciation and good fortunes. It will help keep you safe as it has me..." With that she let his hand go, bowing her head into a nod and soon after turned to follow everyone out the room.

Once outside Derek gave a nod to Starzone's order, salute quickly as he said "I'm on it!" with a confident grin, his grin going suddenly serious as he turned to Byte who had playfully tugged at his tail. In a playful 'threat' Derek glared, with a small hint of a smirk in his serious expression, and joked "Cruisin' for a bruisin' you are..." Derek chuckled, following Byte and the others.

=o=

Rav'una was already prepared to go into the mission, always one to carry what she needs and might need in a hurry with her at all times. Derek meanwhile had to gather up his tech gear and put on what he describe as 'his rags' because to him they weren't exactly his kind of style. But then again he wasn't wearing it for a fashion show so he had grinned and bared it. He proceeded to gather up his gear before heading out.

=O=

Stepping out into where the others were now Derek was the first to apreciate the shiney, well kept bikes and he kind of wondered if one day he would have one of his own. Rav'una was a little more curious about them, having not seen anything like these before. Although her planet did have vehicles and something similar, somewhat, they weren't the same but she also didn't ask any questions. She was here on a mission and that's what needed to be done.

"Affirmative" Rav'una nodded to Starzone, hurrying over to Trajectory and his vehicle and hopping on board, holding on and preparing for the ride.

Derek stepped up with a raise of his hand and a perk of his brow. "Uh, so what am I ridin'?...The Battlesuit?"

(ooc - mech lab and vehicle bay are in different areas. See you outside :P)

As Rav'una settled Trajectory used his tail to plant his spare hemet on her head, then looked over at Starzone. She put her goggles down before putting her helmet on and turned to gim with a grin. He gave her a thumbs up, she nodded.

"Cavalry Alpha good to go. Open up."

Voice recognotion kicked in at the door controls and the door slid open. The ramp had barely started descending when both gunned hard, bikes surging forward with a squeal of rubber on tarmac. They went from zero to very fast in not long, not even touching the ramp as they caught air, hanging for a bit and pulling back on the handlebars slightly as gravity took effect and the sand came rushing up to meet them.

Grit flew as spinning wheels stuck static sand, the tyres bit and gripped and powered the machines into the forest of mech legs waiting for them at the bottom of the mech ramp not far away.

"Showoffs." They could hear Chip's grin through their helmet comms.

Starzone grinned. "Techy, dock with Dire Wolf," Starzone ordered. "Base triangle formation, Atlas and Dire Wolf take point, Timber Wolf rear guard. We'll sit in the middle. Head towards the nav point, top speed."

"Affirmative Starleader," Cypher responded.

"Hop aboard," Chip called cheerfully to Derek's Battlesuit, extending the arm to make to easier to land on.

"You ride the waves and don't ask where they go."

(OOC: Yes...I...uh...I knew that I was...uh...erm...testing your ability to...um...yeah, see you outside..XD!)

The helmet did come as a bit of a slight surprise to Rav'una but then again she should of expected some kind of protection for her noggin. That said it was a little awkard fitting at first, since her ears where structured as they where and all, but it fit none the less snuggly enough in the end (see her pic for details).

Being suddenly thrown into a speeding dash forward Rav'una found herself instinctively holding on tighter and leaning forward to press herself against Trajectory for the added support so she didn't end up flying back and being left behind. She didn't actually realize that her claws where digging into the material of whatever clothing Trajectory was wearing but when she did notice she quickly lessened the grip of her claws, making certain mainly to avoid injury more than anything.

The ride, however, gave her that brilliant sense of freedom and she would have enjoyed it more where it not for the fact that they were heading into a battle-soon-to-be-war kind of scenario.

Derek meanwhile was nice and comfy in his Battlesuit and couldn't help but smirk in amusement at Chip's reaction to the incoming team mates, chuckling with a shake of his head before settling to move his Battlesuit into docking.

"Affirmative, on my way" Derek responded to Starzone's commands, waiting for Chip to be ready once he arrived to make it easier for Derek to dock and with a smirk Derek felt particularly bold in his response. "Thanking you sweetheart" Derek chuckled, setting his Battlesuit to prepare for a small launch-jump, hopping on board and docking his Battlesuit into place.

"Locked and ready" Derek confirmed.

Chip smirked up at Derek when the Battlesuit came into his line of sight. "Anytime baby," he replied in the same tone, looking amused. When he heard the click and had audio confirmation of the lock, he pushed into a walk, the Atlas pulling into line with him. The brothers made eye contact across their comm channel and that was all that was needed, they both immediately pushed their mechs up to their top speed, the Dire Wolf's blindingly fast 70kph.

Byte loped along behind them, making the backwards facing apex of the triangle. The comparatively tiny racers slotted in betweem the large mechs as they sprinted towards the nav point on all their consoles.

"Plan A," Starzone said, attracting attention. "Techy, see if you can work out a way to hide the big mechs from the cats without them noticing their stuff's bein' played with. Mechs, triangulate around the ship, within line of sight. Timber Wolf, you're taking this point." Starzone marked off the furthest point from their current position. "Atlas, going here." Her next mark blocked off an easy retreat for the Catatonians. "Dire Wolf and Techy, you guys are going over here when we pass the point. Puts Dire Wolf close enough to jump in if necessary and hopefully close enough to put the techy within range to work his magic. Wired is going up ver here," she marked a position dangerously close to the nav that marked the location of the ship, "and hang out in this outcrop. Squidbait and I will go in and run distraction which should allow Rainbow here," she gestured to Rav'una as she said 'Rainbow', "ample opportunity to slink in and do her thing."

At least Derek knew who he could express his often random and bold sense of humor with and smirked with a chuckle at Chip's response, leaning over a little to one side of the panel in front of him to reach out for a specific switch, clicking it in place and tapping it into its off position when it wasn't needed. Something to do with the boosters and getting them ready.

No matter how many times Derek witnessed the speed of any of these mechs he never failed to be impressed. Add that to the fact there were a lot of parts that made the things move and function that also caught Derek's eye and interest and it was certainly obvious that being a techy was a good option for him. Even if he was a manly sort of macho-braveheart-action-hero-wanna-be-self-proclaimed-lady-magnet-alien-desaster-ticking-time-bomb-shadowy-thingy-possessed-proud-and-confident type. Trust me, it all makes sense in one way or another.

Before Derek could even say anything the first thing that was heard was Rav'una asking in a rather uncertain/unimpressed tone question her code name. "Rainbow?..."

"Well this isn't a name contest" Derek explained as calmly as he could to which Rav'una simply reacted to with a grunt-ish "Fine...but I still say 'Rainbow' could have been better chosen. Either way, let us get this done and over with"

With Rav'una having finished her little complaint of sorts, which actually in some odd way was a good sign that she feeling trusting enough to be so honest toward her now authority figures during a mission as well as feeling more comfortable in her new team.

Derek meanwhile exhaled with a shake of his head before proceeding to give his brief explination. "Affirmative on that order Starzone" Tapping at a few keys on the panel before him Derek scanned the area for anything they could use to their advantage, exhaling deeply in frustration shortly afterward. "Looks like they've chosen some smart locations..." Derek explained "There isn't anywhere we can hide, the entire area is wide open and completely flat. The nearest cliff is way too far to even try and see the base from it yet alone form any effective ambushes...This is gonna be tougher than I had imagined..."

(ooc- muahaha my sister came up with "Rainbow", seeing as from the picture I figured she was gray, no one would suspect a thing ;)

"If it's any consolation," Streak said to Rav'una, "I got stuck with Squidbait."

"Haven't you ever chased rainbows as a kid?" Starzone cut in, grinning. "Fracking things are uncatchable. Slow down to walking speed," she added.

Cypher and Chip obediently throttled back to a sedate 40kph. The bikes wove slightly to stay upright at the slower speed.

"Man I hate crawling," Byte grumbled good-naturedly from the back.

When Derek mentioned the difficulty of getting in, Starzone commented off-handedly, "Ehh difficult just makes it more fun." She did however look more closely at her map. "Sllight change. Wired, can you get up here?" She marked a new spot practically on top of the nav point. On the 3D map it was revealed to be the top of the cliff under the overhang of which the Catatonians had put their ship.

Trajectory tapped his console, viewing the map from a few different angles. "Affirmative Starleader," he replied after a while, seeing a couple of routes he could attempt to take up.

"You get up there and set up. Rainbow can rappel down on top of them. Or from here if she wants to be quieter." She made a less prominent mark in a different colour further back."

"My split," Chip said, and veered off to the left. "Hang on Techy." Occasionally using the arm cannons as supports, Chip labouriously began guiding the Dire Wolf up the outcrop they were meant to take up position on. This of course meant every so often when he needed to use his left arm, Derek got shaken around a little bit. Chip at least tried to use that side as little as possible.

They reached a point about halfway up and Chip switched to standby mode, minimising the signature the massive mech was putting out without shutting off. "You right mate?" Chip inquired, looking up over his left shoulder and squinting into to Battlesuit's cockpit.

"You ride the waves and don't ask where they go."

(OOC: LOL! XD! Well in that case I don't think she'll feel so bad about it once she finds out. Either or she'll be like "I'm not g- Or you said grey... Yes, yes I agree... >..>" XD!)

Rav'una smirked at Streak's codename, holding back a chuckle as she replied "I suppose it does help to know..." Stopping as Starzone then cut in Rav'una gave a small shake of her head, chuckling a little at what was said. "The closest thing to a rainbow I have ever chased as a child was a multi-coloured serpant of sorts. That was a barell of fun, let me tell you..." She exhaled, remembering actually that it was kind of fun but certainly left its marks on her in the process.

The beauty about any mission was that nine times out of ten there was always an alternative if you knew where to look. And fortunately that's exactly what happened when Starzone checked the nav. Rav'una remained quiet, listening in and just awaiting her next orders. She figured whichever was more convenient and effective would be the right choice but she wasn't about to make that decision for the higher authority figures.

Derek meanwhile gave an "Affirmative" as Chip told him to hang on, Derek in turn making sure he was locked in place firmly before making sure he himself was secure within the Battlesuit. Sure it was a bit of a rough ride but this is when Derek thanked his lucky stars for the padding inside the Battlesuit to make things a little safer as well as a little more comfy. So it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Also the fact Chip was being smart in choices helped a lot too.

By the time Chip had stopped Derek had been pretty shaken up by the ride but it didn't seem to be too bad nor effect his positive and often enthusiastic nature. "Better than I could have been" Derek responded with a smirk, raising his hand to give the thumbs up before then adding with a bit of a mutter as he rubbed his temple "Apart from having smashed my head against the right wall about five steps back...good thing the padding in here is thick enough to have prevented any damage" With another smirk Derek added in a bit of a humored manner "These things aren't cheap after all"

Chip chuckled. "Good to hear. Reckon you culd work some techy magic for us?"

They watched as the others continued towards the ship that they could now see in the distance from their vantage point. Starzone's bike was the only one that really stood out, though Trajectory's wasn't terribly difficult to discern, being a metallic red rather than the matte camo of the mechs.

Cypher and Byte split off left, circumnavigating the ship and heading to their points.

Not long after, Trajectory and Rav'una split off right, leaving Starzone and Streak cruising alone towards the ship.

Trajectory glanced up at the cliff, then down at Wired's console, where he was receiving live updates as Wired calculated a route up the cliff. "You sure you can make it up?" he inquired.

The bike blipped in response, flashing a smiley on the corner of its console. Trajectory smiled back.

"Hang on," he advised Rav'una, although he twitched a little from where her claws had pricked his skin through his clothes before. That however had been his own fault for not warning her that he and Starzone were prone to sudden takeoffs when biking. He gunned Wired and pulled into a wheelie just as he fired off the nitrous boosters. The bike jumped and then took some air, bunny hopping onto a low ledge and balancing precariously for a second as Trajectory wrenched the front wheel around. The front wheel dropped and bit into the rock. The ledge they were powering up was narrow.

"Keep in," Trajectry advised as his pad protected knee scraped the rock.

"I reckon I could" Derek smirked as he fiddled around with a few more switches and buttons "Just lead me the way and I'll be right on it"

The time for battle was drawing near and Rav'una already was preparing her plan ahead of time. Although it would have to be a basic sketch in her mind to blueprint a few of such basics for her plans but at least she would be better prepared should she have to act in a hurry. Not that she didn't have the right skills and all for it, it just helped to be prepared before going into any situation. And if it was one thing Rav'una was known for was her ability to be prepared for just about anything.

'Fascinating' Rav'una thought to herself, seeing how Trajectory's bike responded back to him and in an intelligent manner 'These vehicles are also able to communicate with their riders. Now I have seen everything'

Having been warned this time to hang on before Trajectory had taken off Rav'una's grip didn't involve as much clawing this time around and though she used them she was more careful this time, therefore causing no harm. It was a good thing Trajectory was a good rider too or he and Rav'una would have both been rather hurt. The landing was quite a rush to say the least but it didn't mean Rav'una didn't enjoy it. It was wild and she figured she would willing to do it all again just for fun if asked to. Then she wondered if maybe she could be trained to use one of these bikes. It was a tempting thought...

"Affirmative" Rav'una responded as she made sure she was tucked in enough to prevent herself from being painted onto the rocks. Her slim and agile physique certainly helped also but even for her it was a bit of a tight position they were in. Meanwhile she was starting to become eager to rush in and use her blade but she would have to remain patient. She knew patience was everything, as well as timing, when it came to an effective ambush and/or attack.

"Try jamming. The more of a jump Starleader and Wired can get on 'em the better. Better yet if you can swing it without 'em noticing." Chip had gone into watchful mode, eyes flicking between his still active radar and the environment that he could see.

Trajectory tightened his grip on the handlebars as Wired skidded a little, not exactly something they had room to be doing now that they were high enough for a drop to be fatal. They inched around a bend and fortunately for all involved the path opened out enough to fit one and a bit bikes abreast. Trajectory exhaled a sigh of relief.

They went steeply uphill, round another corner and broke out over the top of the cliff. Wired slowed down as he moved into the middle of the plateau, nose pointing towards where the Catatonian ship would be located at the bottom of the cliff. When it puttered to a stop, Trajectory put a foot down to support the bike, removing his helmet, placing it on the tank and running his hand through his dreds to loosen them up.

The message on Wired's console read: OH YE OF LITTLE FAITH.

"I trusted you not to get us killed." Trajectory patted the gold hoop snake painted on the tank affectionately. He looked over his shoulder at Rav'una. "Got a plan?" he inquired.

"You ride the waves and don't ask where they go."
