My Friends The Biker Mice From Mars, Season 2, Volume 2, Chapter 10

My Friends The Biker Mice From Mars, Season 2, Vol 2.

Chapter 10.

It had now been six months since the faithful day when Matt had taken a bullet in the back that was meant for Throttle. Though Throttle and Matt were still arguing over music, they had now been brought closer together, so much so that Throttle had actually bought Matt a special gift. He had seen Matt looking on the internet at a fully working replica of the golden gun used in Matt's favourite Bond movie 'The Man With The Golden Gun', and unknown to Matt, Throttle had purchased the gun.

Throttle: Hey Matt, I have bought you a little something. I know that you've been looking at that golden gun on the internet, so I've bought it for you complete with a seven shot clip, just as a belated thank you for saving my life.

Matt could not believe it, first Throttle was calling him brother and now this, what was to come next?

Today had started in much the same way as usual, but there was an uneasiness in the air, a thought that something bad was about to happen.

Matt made his way into town, he had an appointment for a check up with our Dr friend, Dr Osborne. It was just a check up to see how Matt's wound was healing over. After his appointment, Matt left the doctors surgery and made his way back to his Cadillac, en-route, he bumped into an old friend, a human female, roughly the same height as he was at 5 foot 9, whose name was Shae.

Matt hadn't seen Shae for a while, so he decided to take her for a coffee, to talk over old times. After their coffee, Matt decided to take Shae back to the house to see the guys. Matt arrived back at the house just in time to see a figure lurking around the lair, it certainly didn't look like one of the guys, but Matt still knew that he recognised the figure.

In a split second he remembered who the figure was, Oh my god, it's the guy who shot me, he's back. Matt stopped the car and jumped out, Shae joined him, Matt had managed to get behind the attacker and was now pointing his golden gun at the back of the attackers head. Whilst he had the attacker in this position, Matt explained the situation to Shae, how this guy was responsible for the injury on Matt's back, it was then that Shae came up with a brilliant idea.

Shae now spoke to both Matt and the attacker together.

Shae: I propose a dual and I will be the referee, you will both stand back to back and then take ten paces forward, you will then turn to face your opponent and be ready to fire on my command.

Both Matt and the attacker agreed to these terms and did as Shae had asked.

They both took ten paces then turned to face each other.

Matt: Hey loser, do you have any last words to say before you die?

Just as Matt had finished saying the word die, he spotted a bomb that had been placed by the outside wall of the lair. It was too late though, Shae yelled “fire” and two shots rang out, Matt's shot found it's mark, piercing his opponents heart, as Matt's opponent lay on the ground dying a faint blip could be heard, like the sound of a heart rate monitor. Matt now realised what this sound meant, he had recently watched the film 'SAW 3', where a bomber had wired a portable heart rate monitor both to his heart and to a load of explosives, when the bomber had been shot and his heart had stopped the monitor went into flatline, constant tone, which in turn caused the explosives to go off.

Matt: Oh shi......

Matt didn't get to finish his sentence, he now heard that familiar constant tone, his opponent had flatlined, he was dead, suddenly there was a huge explosion as the huge amount of C4 explosive went off. The force of the blast knocked Matt off his feet and back two hundred yards, he landed just in front of his car, the blast also blew out most of the windows in the house, the lair, however, was no more, just a smouldering pile of rubble.

Matt had been knocked unconscious by the blast, he came to ten minutes later and with Shae's help he slowly got to his feet, suddenly a realisation hit him, Oh no, the guys, where are the guys?, he went running towards the smouldering remains of the lair, he felt sure that they would have been in the lair and so they would have all been surely killed.

By a sheer stroke of luck though, the guys all now started to emerge from the house, all somewhat dazed after the explosion but nevertheless they were alive. On seeing that his bro's were all ok, Matt passed out and fell to the floor. Throttle and Vince ran to Matt, Throttle looked down at Matt's head, there was a huge bleeding gash on his forehead, he had taken nearly the full force of the explosion.

Throttle gently picked Matt up in his arms, knowing that one wrong move could put his bro in a wheel chair for the rest of his life, he lay Matt on the back seat of his Cadillac and drove him to the doctors surgery. Throttle and Vince gently rushed Matt into the surgery, shouting out the doctors name on the way. The Dr came out of his room.

Dr Osborne: What the hell is all the commotion?
Vince: It's Matt, there's been an explosion back at the house and Matt took much of the force from the blast.
Dr Osborne: Ok, rush him into the operating room and I'll see what I can do.

Vince and Throttle did as they were told, Throttle laid Matt's lifeless body on the operating table, the Dr ran into the operating room and told the two bro's to wait outside.

It had now been three hours since Vince and Throttle brought Matt into the surgery, suddenly Matt made his appearance from the operating room with a heavily bandaged head and a large bottle of aspirin, he made his way to where Throttle and Vince were sitting.

Matt: Well that's gotta be some sort of record for me, two visits to the doctors surgery in less than an hour. Take me home guys.

Throttle and Vince drove Matt back to the house, the rest of the guys, including me, had made a start on the clear up, I had already made a call to a window company to come and replace the windows and they had arrived promptly, however, with the amount of windows in the house, it would take at least a week to replace them all. The lair, however, was no more, but I was at least thankful that nobody was inside when it went up, as my wise old father once said to me “Son, bricks and mortar can be rebuilt, windows can be replaced, but once you loose life it's gone for good”.

I called everyone together.

Me: I'm sorry guys but the lair is gone, so for now you are gonna have to stay at the house, but I will rebuild the lair, it will take time, but together we will rebuild it, this time it will be bigger and better, I'm also going to be upgrading the security on the whole place so that hopefully something like this will never happen again.

Charley: But Daz, that is not going to be cheap.
Me: I know Charley, but the way I look at it is this, what price do you put on your families security and safety?, because that's what you all are, my family.

Throttle made his way to the front of the gathering and began to speak.

Throttle: I think that I speak for everyone here when I say, that we couldn't wish for a better father than you.

At this I came over all emotional and threw my arms around Throttle.

Me: Thanks guys, that means a lot to me to hear you say that.

After the clean up had been finished we all went back inside the house, a meal was prepared and consumed, then it was time for Matt to take Shae home. Though we all knew that Matt had killed the attacker, we were still a little uneasy of letting him take Shae home alone, so it was agreed that I would drive with them, just for protection.

On the drive home Matt brought the car to a stop, then turned to me and broke down in tears.

Me: Hey Matt, what's wrong?
Matt: I nearly got everyone that I care about killed today, what kind of a Biker Mouse does that make me?
Me: Hey now then, what happened today was not your fault, you weren't to know that the creep was planning something so big. If you hadn't of taken him out when you did, he would not have hesitated in killing you, then he would have killed every last one of us, including your friend Shae. As it is, yes we have suffered lots of damage, but we are all still mercifully alive. So, I want no more tears, what's happened has happened, it's time to put it behind you.

Matt began to drive us home again but switched his CD player on and we drove home to the sounds of “Our Solemn Hour” by his favourite group Within Temptation.
