Daemun damn near did fall off the bed but forunately he managed to regain his balance from the sudden impact of sitting up so suddenly, which was further eased by Phoenix's support, and from t here took a moment to regain his thoughts and full consciousness from the ordeal. Apart from the splitting headache that was taking its sweet time to clear up everything was more or less fine and dandy once his vision focused back to normal again which was when he took a look around the room to find said company in it. As mentioned he was quite surprised to find anyone else apart from Phoenix and himself in the room but the other surprise was that he didn't over react about it. In fact he was oddly calm about the whole thing, if not just a little untrusting and still a little cold towards everyone but there were some apparent improvements in his reaction alone.

With a nod Daemun gradually slid to a sit at the edge of his bed, giving a long and much needed stretch as every bone in his body seemed to pop and send a wave numbingly relaxing relief over his body. He was feeling a little drained of course and so the need for food became apparent when his stomach reminded him with a pinch that he needed to replace the energy lost form his little MindScape adventure. Easing with a combination of tiredness and relief in his exhale.

"Mind telling me w ho the rest of you are?" he asked as he gave his neck a little roll, holding the back of it for added support. Obviously he was referring to everyone else in the room. He still had that firm, merc-esque attitude in his tone with that 'no sugar coating' style but even he could tell that already there were at least some improvements in his mood. Maybe the whole MindScape thing was a success after all.

(OOC: XD! Byte's reaction and the scene in my head to go with was hilarious, XD!)

Derek's expression pretty much said it all as his confident little smirk suddenly vanished and was replaced with a more serious and somewhat shocked expression as he blinked some at the sudden realization that yes, indeed, Starzone would. He barely even realized Byte had said anything, though it certainly made for an amusing scenario, and shortly after that Derek gave a few slow nods in his response.

"Okay...okay...I get it...No need to crush the pride now...I kinda need 'em..."

Slowly he let Starzone go, holding his hands up in a gesture for truce. It was then what Byte had said suddenly clicked and he quickly looked up at the area of where the viewing panel could be. It was hard to tell from his current location.

"We as in me too or we as in you and Starzone?" He asked with a perk of his brow, looking down at Starzone with a frown as he blurted "And will you let my balls go already? You're gonna kill 'em! For Are's sake man, they're innoscent!"

Both Rav'una and Bak'trul replied with a uniscent "Apology accepted", Rav'una smirking at Geiser with a wink to show he was now back in her good books before turning to more serious matters which forced her expressions into the apropriate tone, along with her words expressed in likewise manner.

She certainly had that leadership quality about her. It often made one wonder what else she had accomplished and done before she managed to crash land on Mars. And considering that this guardian was obeying her like a puppy when he had full ability to vaporise her very soul if he so wished to was saying a lot about the level of respect between the two. And perhaps even saying a lot about the way Rav'una represented herself and handled things in general. Heck, even Geiser could probably agree with that. Then again she is female and we all know, contrary to popular belief amongst the males of most if not all species, how easy it often was for them to take complete control of any situation and slap the sense back into the senseless. And how!

Still don't believe me? Go on then. Ask Bak'trul. Granted he doesn't bite your head off (literally) first then guaranteed even he'd agree. After all his reaction to Rav'una's firm words pretty much proved it in itself.

When Mo'Kai'il later finally making his appearance it was also quite clear that indeed he was her father if his fur colouring and pattern were anything to do with it. It was strikingly similar apart from Rav'una's own having a somewhat more feminine touch.

Rav'una felt her heart race and she had to hold herself from showing how nervous she really was about the whole situation. She remained silent as Mo'Kai'il had his say, a few slow nods and a friendly smile in his expressions as he replied to Geiser "No problem then man, I'm sure I'll speak with her soon. It's been a long time since we have had contact with your people so it brings me great joy. But also..." With a slightly more serious expression he further noted "It brings some concern. It seemed to be urgent. What be the matter?"

Rav'una was suddenly hessitant to say anything and though in her mind she argued with herself to say something she just could not bring herself to say anything. It irritated her but you couldn't blame her for being so hessitant.

The slender tawny Mercurite didn't respond, glancing at Phoenix before looking back at Daemun. Phoenix chirruped at him, and he squeaked at Daemun.

Goshawk, one of my triad mates, Phoenix translated. He's not being rude, triad members aren't supposed to speak unless permitted by the triad leader when on duty.

Goshawk nodded.

That's Trajectory, Phoenix added, dipping one of her wings to point the elbow joint at the chocolate and cream piebald with the dreadlocks and the distinctive chocolate patch over one eye.

"We've met," Trajectory said shortly. He'd been sitting up in another bed, recovering from a headspin induced by sitting up too quickly after lacing his boots. Now he very slowly and very deliberately got to his feet, stretching and cracking out a few muscles and bones. He picked up his utility belt and clipped it on, then slung on his shoulder holster with the assault rifle in it. Trajectory looked over at Daemun, then blinked, tilting his head slightly and looking momentarily puzzled before catching himself and resuming being aloof but not hostile.

Starzone cackled quite evilly as she finally released her potential death grip on Derek's manhood, rolling smoothly to her feet as soon as he let her go. She led the way back to the locker room, where Epoch, Streak and Byte were waiting.

"Wha's goin' on?" Starzone inquired languidly where others in a similar position would have been barking "What's the situation?"

"We're stoppin' at some place called Vein Valley in a few hours," Byte responded. "You an' Traj are goin' on recon with Chase. I'm stealin' your boyfriend, we're on shopping duty." Starzone smirked as Streak nipped her ear playfully. "The boys are on guard duty." She glanced at Derek, then looked at Starzone before both girls looked up at Epoch.

One of Epoch's tail halves twitched as he smirked slightly and nodded, his antennae and a half lighting up and lighting up Starzone's.

"Ask Spark if he's needed here first," Starzone said, not entirely of her own voilition. Byte grinned.

"Yes sir, thank you sir!" she said, exaggerating the military thing to point of satire as she playfully saluted Epoch. "C'mon gorgeous," she called to Derek, tugging on his arm.

Geiser couldn't help but smile a little in response as Rav'una indicated that his bull headed male way of handling things was forgiven. He turned his head away from her as the smile fell away from his face, listening to her dealing with the various situations as they came up. Obviously Rav'una was very much her own person and very much admirable and loveble in her own way, but there were so many things she and Lyric had in common that Geiser knew for a fact that had Lyric been alive today, she and Rav'una would have hit it off instantly, and would quite likely have ganged up on him mercilessly.

A barrage of emotions clattered through him. The only time Rav'una faltered was when se was confronted with her father, and then she seemed to become the little girl she undoubtedly still was, more or less, to Mo'Kai'il, rather than speaking to him leader to leader. That was when he moved closer to her, his hand closing imperceptibly over hers.

"I can't keep you," he whispered, not meeting her eyes. Good leaders, no matter where in the universe you were, were hard to find, and from the looks of things she was...or mybe was soon to be...a good leader. He couldn't deny her people, it would be wrong. "They need you. And..." the truth hurt. "...you're too good for me." He moved to the entrance to Xu's three quarter circle work area, looking like he was standing guard with his back to them.

"You ride the waves and don't ask where they go."

Daemun watched the Mercurites with a calm yet serious level of curiousity, not minding so much the fact that one didn't respond and all and Phoenix's translation was met some silent grattitude in the form of a nod. "Understood" Daemun then responded, still in the process of gathering the rest of his senses after what he had gone through only moments ago, before turning his attention back to the other Mercurites.

It wasn't until Trajectory was mentioned that Daemun's curiousity was really perked and he turned his attention over to him with a small perk of his brow. "We have?..." Daemun asked, somewhat suspiciously as he could not for the life of him recall meeting Trajectory at all. When Trajectory then looked Daemun over the way he did Daemun once again perked his brow with a tilt of his head in turn before then with a puzzled sort of frown, firm yet reasonably calm enough, silently wondered in his own mind what the heck that was all about.

"In case you're wondering, my fur's always like this first thing in the morning" Daemun replied, being somewhat of a smart ass and toying with sarcasm which would have been more amusing if it wasn't for that ever so firm tone he seemed to have. Always. Ever present, never breaking.

Games Room

Derek hated the feeling of defeat as it quite quickly deflated his ego and especially when such a low blow had to be endured. But at the end of the day it was all in good fun and probably a good thing that Starzone did what she did. Otherwise who knows what may have ended up happening had Sydonai been up front for any longer than he was.

And so with what pride he had left, smirking with a shake of his head and a roll of his eyes at the whole match and how it ended, Derek chuckled to himself as he stood back up and followed Starzone back to the locker room.

"Don't think there won't be rematch low-blower" Derek teased with a wink as he walked back into the locker room before stopping half way in and blinking some at Streak and Byte who were waiting there.

Derek decided now would be a good time to shut up and listen as he had feeling whatever was to be announced was going to be important. Still didn't stop him from walking over to stand beside Byte and give her a loving macho kiss on the side of the neck with a smirk though he quickly reminded himself of his place and let everyone have their say before Byte called him over with a tug at his arm.

"Right behind ya babe" Derek smirked with a wink, confidence shining as new, and proceeded to follow Byte.

Heart

You had wonder in these sort of situations, where the similarities from one to another individual were so frighteningly the same, if there were any kind of "soul merging" or if somehow, in some unknown way, the two actually knew each other somehow or at very least shared something in some mysterious spiritual way. Though really it was all just one big coincidence, and an eerily close one, that Rav'una shared so much in common with Lyric. The two would have probably hit it off quite well indeed. One could only hope this would not be too much of an issue however as it was apparent, and quite obvious, that Rav'una held a deep love for Geiser and one so rare at that. Rav'una rarely let herself get so close to anyone yet alone fall in love with someone. In fact Geiser was the first she had fallen in love with and would be the first she would want to spend the rest of her life with. And beyond. This, however, was something that would have to wait until the current situation was cleared.

Geiser's hand closing over Rav'una's gave her a new level of confidence and bravery she refused to believe she needed. But it didn't take long for her to realize that it was exactly what she needed and she tightened her grip anxiously on Geiser's hand, however keeping the hold tender as she could, and Geiser would have felt the light tremble coursing through her body. Though she didn't admit it or show it...she was for the first time in many years afraid.

Then Geiser spoke. Those words were like a razor to her heart and her hold loosened from Geiser's hand as she slowly lowered her gaze, a tear running down her cheek as she closed her eyes and nodded slowly before her response.

"You are right..." She finally said, barely able to form her words any further than above a whisper. "But I am not too good for you. The truth is you deserve better than me. I should have been more honest with you...but I failed you. For this I am sorry..." What else could she say? It seemed all hope was lost now. She would have to return home with a broken heart and guide her people with a hidden pain.

Meanwhile her father had been observing the whole thing, his expressions full of thought and even sympathy as he listened not only to the words of which were spoken but to the thoughts of which ran through everyone's mind. He could see the auras of emotions strongly present and it was all so dark and gloomy.

"Geiser" Mo'Kai'il finally began, putting on that warrior's mask (so to speak) and standing tall and strong, staff held at his side and standing as tall and proud beside him as his posture "I would like to speak wit you in private. Is dat alright wit yoaw?"

(ooc - aww Daemun's already forgotten Starzone and Trajectory and the fight they were having before Strike came along and brought them all home? :)

"You threw a flaming skull at me." Trajectory said matter-of-factly, like it was no big deal and ignoring the fact the flaming skull would have killed him had it contacted. He had a fresh scar on his arm from where a stake had shot through it when Trajectory had dodged the flaming skull but a barrel he had been close by to hadn't been so lucky. "Among other things." Trajectory was slightly confused about how he felt, from ring fighting he was used to being remembered, on the other hand he wasn't entirely certain he wanted to be remembered by a demon. Those things had long memories.

Corridors

Byte slowed to a comfortable lope as they hit the main corridor that would take them to the lower section of the mech bay.

"Did ya wanna come shopping with me and Streak or you prefer playing with your mechs?" it suddenly occurred to Byte to ask whether or not Derek would like to go with them to Brimstone. The mechs would be needing work, and there was the question of whether Spark would let him go or not, the techies were likely to be flat strap repairing the badly damaged mechs and patching the slightly damaged ones, not to mention the usual maintenance work required to keep them smoothly running and ready for action whenever they were needed. "We're goin' across the top of the canyon and then using a road that goes from the town to Brimstone so there won't be any squids." She grinned.

Heart

Geiser almost didn't hear Mo'Kai'il addressing him, he was too busy being a stoic rugged manly man pretending he wasn't so strongly affected by his emotions, trying to pretemd the depths of his feelings for Rav'una was just puppy love he was way too old to be feeling, or maybe a strange upsurgence of repressed emptiness. He registered that someone was trying to talk to him when he heard Xu responding to Mo'Kai'il.

"Truly private conversations need to be conducted in person, sir. All electronic communication gets routed through me."

"You ride the waves and don't ask where they go."

(OOC: Sorry, my bad. XD! I mean...he's uh...erm...been through a lot? Yes. Yes we'll just say he's been through a lot and his brain is scrambled-ish. Daemun: I disapprove of this messege. )

Psion Rest Area

"Oh yeah, now I remember" Daemun smirked, responding in an eerily calm and almost too proud manner as he suddenly recollected what had moment's ago been lost memories. Now that they had been recovered from the ashes it was going to be very unlikely that Daemun was going to forget that little moment any time soon. Indeed demons have a memory to give the reputation of elephant's own a good run for its credit. Even if sometimes things were a little blurred it didn't take much to re-focus things for the most part.

"Fun times" Daemun then added, inflating his ego that little more but keeping it just under 'getting to your head' level and status before returning to his usual serious self again. Though things seemed to have somewhat improved thanks to the little Mind Scape adventure he had just had. Perhaps that's why he was having troubles recollecting things. You couldn't blame the guy really.

Taking note of the scar on Trajectory's arm, glancing at it a moment, Daemun soon added "By the looks of things my attacks weren't entirely a failure. But I gotta hand it to you..." Daemun's wicked little smirk rolled back into play again as he added with a slight devilish grin "You fight like a demon." The intentional pun would have been more amusing if it was for how eerily presented it was.

Corridors (Like "doors" only with "corris" =D)

For a moment Derek had to stop and consider his options and which of the two would be the wiser choice. After all as mentioned the mechs required maintainence and one less techie would make things a little more difficult for the crew. Not to mention Derek would probably never hear the end of it. "Well..." Derek finally began, rubbing the back of his neck with in slight concern, though it was also apparent that his choice was wanting to go wherever Byte would be and go "I really should help out back at the mech bay since Spark will probably shit a brick if I don't. But on the other hand..." Looking over his shoulder as though checking to make sure that no one else was listening he the leaned over then after toward Byte as he spoke in just above a whisper, borderline desperation in his tone "I need to get the hell out of there and do something exciting! My adrenaline gland is drying up!"

With a smirk, standing upright with his arms folded and all the confidence in Mars shining through him, Derek replied in regards to the squid statement "No squids? Where's the fun in that?" Derek teased with a wink. Though a side of that inquiry was somewhat serious to an extent. Being ever the adrenaline junkie and all.

Rav'una was quite surprised to hear this coming from her father though she had a feeling this could be a good sign. Normally this sort of thing didn't happen unless Mo'Kai'il had something really important to say. However when Xu gave her response in regards to private conversations needing to be in person two things ran through Rav'una's mind of what the possibilities of what happens next could be. The first being that the conversation would end there and she would, inevitably, have to go home. The second is that Mo'Kai'il would indeed meet Geiser in person. But that would be difficult to do considering the distance.

Or would it be?

Mo'Kai'il nodded to Xu in understanding, giving the moment a good thought and considering his options, before then noting with a calm tone "That can be arranged if you don't mind me using your techno-screen. Mo'Kai'il has ways of getting places but I do not want to be invading."

Rav'una suddenly realized what the plan was and was quick to turn to Xu as she noted with her more formal tone "What he means to say is that granted that he is given permission to do so he is able to...well transport himself here. I know that this is risky Xu but..." Rav'una turned a slight to look over at Geiser with a broken hope in her expressions, sympathising with his broken heart yet keeping what hope remained as alive as possible as she continued "It is of great importance."

Trajectory arched an eyebrow. "I'll take that as a compliment." It was only out of politeness that he let his eyes flick to Starzone and then back to Daemun when Starzone ghosted into the room. She couldn't help it, Daemun still made her a little wary and with good reason, and as soon as something had her nervous she automatically went into ghost mode. And she knew it too, as she let the door she had entered by close noisily behind her.

"Hi guys!" she said cheerfully. "Traj, we're on recon. Nix, Captain Raven wants to see you."

Phoenix twittered an affirmative noise, her crest flicking.

"Commander Shade, Commander Strike said he wanted to see you when he was done and when you've had something to eat. If you were up to it. He said he was going to swing by The Eatery around lunch timeish, if you wanna get in contact with him before or after to talk to Doc."

Mech Bay

The mech bay was fairly thrumming with activity as techies crawled over the worst damaged highest proritised mechs. More were coming in. Looked like every techy in the Tir was in the area, along with their apprentices. Tycho appeared out of the mass of orange overalls, attaching to Derek's other side.

"Hi Derek. Hi Byte," he called, looking like he at least had lost little sleep over recent happenings.

"Hey Ty," Byte reached over and gently tweaked one of the youth's antennae affectionately. "Seen Sparky?"

Tycho pointed on an upward angle and Spark became immediately obvious, standing on a maintenance platform at the arm of Chip's Dire Wolf with an older teenager at his side, passing him tools. He looked like he was making adjustments to the LAM launcher. Other techies on the mech were doing the more nitty gritty repair work.

Byte dragged Derek over there, Tycho following with a bemused expression.

"Sparky!" Byte yelled up the Dire Wolf. Spark held up one finger, did something they couldn't see on the inside of the mech, then popped his head out, looking down at them.

"What? he responded.

"I'm on shopping duty and..."

"Good, take Derek and Ty with you. We need more parts." Spark slapped grease off his hands onto his seriously abused overalls and pulled out his comm, tapping on it. Derek's com blipped. "Just sent you a shopping list, techy," Spark said abruptly. "Sorry, we're flat strap as you can see." He grinned at them and then stuck his head back into the opened panel, his voice muffling the name of the tool he requested from his apparentice. Fortunately the teenager at least could hear him and handed over what he wanted.

Byte looked at Derek, her eyes sparkling. "Well that was easy."

"Where we going?" Tycho inquired.

Heart

Xu thought about asking Mo'Kai'il if he could teleport that far. Then she figured the question was redundant as he wouldn't have put forward the suggestion if he wasn't able to cover the distance.

"You'll need permission from the commander. Please hold."

Nobody needed to wait that long. The beauty of headware radio was that it was almost as fast as telepathy.

"The commander's given permission to come aboard but you will be scanned in the AEther by our technomancer and on this side by me on the way through. You won't be harmed unless you attack first." The last sentence fragment was delivered in the flat tone of one stating something that didn't need to be said but was for the sake of protocol. "How many people coming through?"

"You ride the waves and don't ask where they go."

(OOC: Melbourne, eh? Awesome stuff! Have fun and thanks for the heads up =)! We should catch up in person some time =P, hehehe.)

Psion Rest Area

"So you should" Daemun smirked, seeing no harm in letting himself have a little fun in his own sort of ways. The sudden noise of a closing door snapped him right out of smart-arse mode and instinctively he automatically stood, ignoring the weird sensation coursing over his body and standing in a semi-defensive manner before easing when he realized who it was that entered. It was no surprise really that Daemun would be somewhat on edge though fortunately he held a fair level of control over his reactions. At least nowadays more so than he used to. Fortunately he was unarmed but then again Daemun rarely relied on his weapons when it came to any situation. Even if a weapon was neccessary and the fine difference between life and death. The later of which he didn't concern himself too greatly over.

He let the fact he was actually startled slide and sat himself back down on the bed, slipping on his chunky sci-fi-like military grade boots and strapping the buckles into place as Starzone meanwhile addressed everyone and gave them their directions. Daemun was still feeling a little less inclined to be overly social but the plus side is that he was quickly learning who's side he really was on. It just takes a while for a guy like Daemun to adjust, even after such a MindScape mindfuck as he had just had.

Finally he stood up, straightening his trench coat and buckling his belt buckle, in turn adjusting his holsters before then bringing his attention over to Starzone when she was done. And the first two things he asked?

"How's my bike and where's my guns?"

Mech Bay

"Heh-hey Tycho!" Derek cheerfully laughed as he had Tycho suddenly latch to his side, Derek in turn returning the favour with a hug of his own and ruffling the top of Tycho's head with laugh as he continued "Good to see you again too buddy! How's the work treating ya?"

Though certainly happy to see his pal again, feeling like a teacher coming back after a long vacation to the glee of their top student, Derek tried to hide the fact he was starting to feel a little awkward about having to talk to Spark about his decision to not be in the mech bay today. After all it had been a while since Derek had been in the mech bay so it was any wonder how Spark would react with another "Hey, won't be in today!" notification. At least he was notifying him in person this time unlike many a time before.

There wasn't much time, apparently, to catch up with Tycho as Derek was now being dragged over to Spark, Derek making a small whimper sound before he blurted with a small frown to Byte "Yo, hey easy on the merchandise sweet cheek. My limbs are valueable donchya know."

It wasn't long before Derek found himself grinning nervously up at Spark with a wave and then soon after blinking some with a perk of his brow to follow and further show how truly surprised, and uneasily confused, he suddenly felt. "Uh...thanks?" Derek called back with a raise of his finger, smirking as he resisted the urge to ask if he should be bringing home any milk or bread before then pulling out his PDA and tapping into it to access the list.

"Yeah, a little too easy..." Derek replied, glancing up at Byte with a nod and then back down to his PDA. "Heh, well what do ya know. The smart arse actually listed squid milk and-" Derek paused a moment as he suddenly realized just how extensive the list really was.

"You gotta be fucking kidding me..." He blurted out with a hand raised in a "WTF?" manner and blank sort of look, followed then by a shake of his head and a sigh as he looked up at Tycho and replied "Only what has to be the most boring path on the face of Mars. I mean c'mon, half of this stuff you can practically find at the door of the Tir. Well except for the main ingredient for the lythium boosters and some of the ore minerals but apart from that...I mean look at this list." Derek turned the PDA to show Byte and Tycho with a shake of his head. "Now I don't know about you but I'm counting at least fifty items here" Leaning a slight over the PDA Derek felt inclined to further note "Did I mention half of it is along what has to be the most boring path on Mars?"

As one once told Derek before, at least there's no squids.

Heart

"I will wait" Mo'Kai'il replied with a nod, waiting until further notice. Rav'una meanwhile was silent throughout the whole event, unable to find the right words or even begin to figure out how to sort the scattered range of emotions clashing through her. A side of her hated having been born into a royal linage and wanted to stay here on Mars for good. But another side of her was willing to accept whatever came to be though one thing was for certain is that she would let it go that easily. She wanted to run, snatch Geiser away and flee as far as she could. But that would get no one nowhere fast. So she waited.

When Xu finally confirmed the all clear Mo'Kai'il once more nodded in agreement to the terms and replied in a calm, accent-thick and very professional tone "There be no fighting from me, do watchu got to do. Only I will be coming through so when you are ready, I am ready."

"Father..." Rav'una finally spoke, firm yet keeping her calm as best she could despite her frustrations and hurt, looking up at her father on the large screen ahead of her as she explained "I will be out of this room. Call for me should you need me."

"Of course Rav'una" Mo'Kai'il replied with a small bow of his head. He will call her in later once he was done speaking with Geiser. But first's thing's first. Rav'una simply nodded in response and without further a word walked out of the room. She wouldn't go far however and would stay by the door/entry way, far enough to not hear much of what was going on inside and to gather her thoughts and emotions a moment but not far enough away to be completely out of the picture.

On her way out she stopped by Geiser's side, not looking at him but addressing him all the same. "If there is one thing you should bare in mind is that no matter what happens here I will always have a place in my heart for you. Just be honest and trust in him. If for anyone else...do this for yourself." With that she exited the room.

Mo'Kai'il sighed. "She just be needing some time alone. I will talk with her soon but for now, I wait for that clearance."

Both Starzone and Trajectory blinked at Daemun inquiring after his guns. "Try under the bed," Starzone suggested. They weren't in the habit of disarming guests. "Otherwise see if you left 'em with Doc. You can tag with us to the vehicle bay if you want," she added, not really answering Daemun's first question but she had no idea how his bike was as she hadn't been in to the vehicle bay recently.

Mech Bay

"You do realise the Tir moves right?" Byte tugged on Derek's tail as she slipped an arm around his waist. "Right now we got nothin' but sand at our door baby. And some cliffs and stuff soon." She grinned and slipped her hand into his free one. "Streak said he'd meet us at the vehicle bay." She led the way down one of the service corridors that would take them on a straight line run to the area in question, Tycho trotting along behind them.

Heart

Geiser tail twitched, the only indication of the slight tremour he was struggling to suppress. His body responded to a thought to reach for Rav'una as she walked past him, but by the time his brain and body had duked it out and his hand had raised, she had left the Heart. He figured she would probably be roaming around The Atrium somewhere, she seemed to like it in there. Sighing, he folded his arms across his broad chest, just to be doing something with the raised hand. His ears flicked backward, half paying attention to what was going on between Xu and Mo'Kai'il.

Xu's fingers danced on the keyboards and touch plates of the console while her directly wired brain manhandled bytes in the virtual side.

"Ready to receive you, sir," she said at length to Mo'Kai'il. "You'll get held up in the AEther just before you get here. You'll encounter a technomancer and a virtual sentient. I will be running a soft scan in the background."

A flicker of concern ran across Xu's mercury coloured eyes. She felt funny, and it took her a while to realise it was coming from within herself, not from within any of the Tir's systems, which she probably knew better than her own body. She would deal with it when her shift was over, there was a lot to do right now.

AEther

The virtual conference room was comfortably appointed with a pleasing ambient light. Epoch leaned against the beta shaped table, arms folded loosely, his twin tails lashing slightly in mild irritation. He much preferred the dark emptiness of a simple Space but it wigged some people out, and Xu had told him that this Mo'Kai'il chaacter, some kind of feline species with a name Epoch could barely wrap his brain around never mind attempt to say (not that he talked much anyway), was a friendly. Which meant they wanted to make him feel welcome, therefore a pleasant neutral environment was provided while Epoch and Xu's scanners did their thing.

Unobtrusive but otherwise blatantly obvious not too far away lumbered Kodiak, looking remarkably relaxed and ursine, parked non-treateningly on his rump and looking like he wasn't too interested in moving unless absolutely necessary. He would pay full attention when Mo'Kai'il beamed in on his way to the Heart, but for now he was working on fixing this weird glitch he'd found.

(OOC: I'm located about an hour or so away from Sydney but granted that you're within Australia (and I believe you are, right?) tickets shouldn't be too expensive and acomidation isn't all too hard to find either =). As long as you don't mind hanging out with a tail wearing, collar displaying, "often can be" goth =P. I'm one them furry fellahs you see. XD

Oh! Welcome back by the way =D! How was your trip?)

Though the fact his inquiry in regards to his bike was met in silence Daemun decided to let this go, though obviously a little uneased about this which was evident in the way he scrunched his lips a slight as he looked at Starzone with a nod. With that he checked under his bed, pulling out a pistol-like looking thing which was certainly a pretty little gun that could pack a punch.

"There's one..." Daemun noted to himself, pulling out a second one from under his pillow with a smirk as he held them up in front of him with an obvious joy in his firm expressions as he noted "And there's the other."

Slipping his guns into his holsters now, straightening his trench coat in turn, Daemun smirked at everyone as he pointed at himself with his thumb and noted "I never leave my family behind."

That was probably the most cheerful anyone has ever seen Daemun in a hell of a long time. It was actually kind of pleasant, almost tension disintegrating but the fact he is what he is and the way he is probably didn't change the facts very much. One thing was for certain though and that was his mood was somewhat...better? Yes, we'll use that for lack of a better word. To forget where he had put his guns meant Daemun had his brains scrambled and was still processing the facts of reality. Daemun was certainly quick about it though which was good and...kind of creepy.

Then again Daemun is generally creepy anyway so go figure.

Mech Bay

"Ow! Hey, watch the merchandise..." Derek chuckled with a shake of his head, smirking at Byte with a hand on his hip and tilting his body a slight as he replied "That's beside the point sweetheart. At this point I almost want a squid to attack" Derek stopped to think about what he just said, adding then with a raised finger "Figuratively speaking."

With a smile Derek held Byte's hand in turn and with that was then being led down the corridor, Derek looking over his shoulder with a wave of his head as he put his PDA away. "C'mon buddy, if you lag back she's likely to leave you behind" He said to Tycho with a wink.

Heart

(OOC: Everytime I write that heading I can't help but be reminded of one thing: Captain Planet. XD)

Rav'una enjoyed her time in The Atrium with Geiser and so it would be exactly where she would head off to, sitting herself down in the exact spot they had been and remembering the first time they had met. It was rather ironic really. If she hadn't left her planet and been shot down by the Catatonians chances are she would not be here now. So in a way she was kind of grateful that it happened at all. Even if she did loose a ship and break a few bones along the way but it was worth it. Then again on the other hand what she was going through now was hell and she hated every minute of it. She could only imagine what Geiser must be feeling though and she found herself suddenly caring less about herself and her issues and growing more concerned over the fact Geiser wasn't going through the best of times right now either. In fact it would be safe to say that for him it was somewhat worse.

Meanwhile Mo'Kai'il discussed his options with Xu and hoped that all would go according to plan. In truth his intentions were good and he wanted to help. But it was a matter of getting around all the red tape first that was the main obstacle. Fortunately being the leader that he is he has a lot of influence and power and his people always seemed to respect his decisions. At least for the most part. After all, can you name the perfect leader? Barack Obama not included because we all know he's a God amongst men. According to statistics.

"Affirmative" Mo'Kai'il replied with a grateful bow in silent gratitude, nodding then in understanding and further noting with a smile "Protocal is protocal."

"See you soon Geiser. I look forward to our talk" Mo'Kai'il (Moh-Kah-E-Ill) said with a bow, turning his attention then to Xu with a nod and a smile as he replied "Thank you for your help Xu. I will remember dis."

With that Mo'Kai'il ended the transmission and proceeded to notify everyone who needed to know back home, Guardians included (we all know how bitchy they can be if you don't tell them the important things) and with that proceeded with having himself teleport over to the AEther. What was curious about the way he did this however was that there were absolutely no signs of Mo'Kai'il having used any form of technology like a teleporter or such to get there. Yet somehow he managed to form a portal smack-bang in the middle of the AEther, one that could be seen from one side and revealing a straight-through in and out access from his world to Mars. You could see right through it and if you were to walk in it would be just like walking through a door it was that surprisingly accessable.

Stepping out from the portal Mo'Kai'il turned back to it with a wave before then suddenly pointing at one of the other felines and snapping at him quickly, his accent all the more evident (think Jamaican...kinda, XD) in more serious mood as he hissed out "Eh Ju'kra, why yaow not be wearin' your tabard mon? You know yaow be needin' it for rank markin's! Getchuself a tabbard before I come back dere and kick my foot claw in yoaw face!" A voice was heard in the background saying something about the Guardians not seeming to mind to which Mo'Kai'il responded "You not be countin' Ba'ktru, naow, yah? Mat'tat uh'mnat kelim yaot, nabu nekt!" Obviously he was getting annoyed enough to yell back in his native tongue and if anyone had any translators they would either be thoroughly shocked at what he just said or thoroughly amused. Or all of the above.

With a wave of his hand he shut the portal and with a sigh and a shake of his head he turned to find he wasn't alone in the room. It shouldn't of been a surprise but he had some...obvious distractions.

"I am sorry about dat" Mo'Kai'il announced to everyone with an apologetic bow, fist pressed against his chest, before straightening himself more proudly then as he smirked and added "Apparently some have more indapendance than others."

(ooc - I'm in Perth :P Absolutely hated the f***ing plane trip with three kids on my own, think we'll be driving or taking the train next trip. I know one "true" Goth who often wears white to piss off the emo teenybopper tryhard gothpunks, and a few of my friends are theriomorphs of the feline persuasion who seem to think I'm either a fox or an octopus. So you'd be quite normal company. How would you be hanging out with a tall long haired dero who uses big words correctly in context in casual conversation and philosophises a lot, a small Asian chick with a mohawk, and three young children, all of which may be prone to sudden bouts of kung fu and random games of parkour chasey? The trip itself was whirlwind but good :)

Trajectory couldn't help but smile as Daemun referred lovingly to his guns as his family. Trajectory didn't think of his as fondly but he did take very good care of them. If he wasn't so bosy being wary and slightly aloof, and if keeping Chase waiting wasn't a health hazard, he might have asked Daemun to show him the finer details of such lovely looking weapons.

"C'mon, c'mon." Starzone hassled the others along good-naturedly. They, or at least herself and Trajectory, were on a bit of a time budget. Chase wanted to recon before the Tir got too close to its designated parking spot, to make sure they didn't park on top of a settlement that hadn't been there before or something.

Vehicle Bay

It was predictable but it had to be done. Shortly after Starzone, followed by Trajectory and Daemun, entered the vehicle bay from one of the service corridors, Byte, Derek and Tycho entered from one of the other ones.

Streak was standing by watching a small group of mechanics checking out and tuning up the bikes that were going out on missions. Spying Starzone, he smiled and walked over to her. Chase was there, less standing by than standing over the wrench jockey working on her bike, looking like she was making sure he was doing it right. Behind her, looking a lot more languid and checking over their own bikes that had already been worked on were two male rats, one looking in his early twenties, the other early to mid thirties.

Starzone and Trajectory both stopped as though they'd hit separate invisible walls as Trajectory was a bit behind Starzone, but both could feel the rush of energy from having Daemun and Derek walk into the same room at t he same time. Bot unconsciously put their hands to their power blockers, ready to push them off if need be. Looking over wordlessly, Chase noted the movement and placed her hands on her hips, strategcally close to her guns, and glared at Starzone and Trajectory with the look of someone who was not ever kept waiting.

Streak had been about to go to Starzone when he saw her but recognising the subtletiwes and not-so-subtleties of the Psions' behaviour he stood by watching.

Byte also sensed something amiss and her hand tightened on Derek's, her other hand first preventing the puzzled Tycho from passing them and then pushing him behind her.

Heart

(ooc - LoL!)

Epoch and Kodi looked up as Mo'Kai'il made his entrance. They were well familiar with people teleporting with various degrees of fanfare, but this was different. They'd heard about rifts and transdimensional portals and the like but never seen one in action until now.

When Mo'Kai'il turned to shout back through the portal Epoch couldn't help but notice that his accent and manner of speaking wee somewhat similar to Streak's. Perhaps there was something to the theory that some "master race" had seeded the universe. That didn't distract him from scanning the cat as he walked in though. He wasn't detecting any malware and the only weapon the cat carried was the staff, which Epoch also got to scanning (ooc - anything I should know, like does it shoot lasers a la Stargate? :P).

Kodi was still patching the glith in the background as he paid attention to what was going on, but something about it was nagging him.

Epoch touched his fist to his chest in Tir salute (and apparently a lot of other places salute as well, happily) in response to Mo'Kai'il doing the same, and smiled slightly at the comment. Epoch was one of those people that would probably have been quite a charmer and good at smalltalk if he was comfortable talking. Even in the AEther though where he could actually synthesise his voice to sound normal, old habits died hard and it took him a couple of seconds to get over the mental block.

"Isn't that normal?" He sounded perfectly normal, like he would have sounded if he hadn't been crushed inside his own mech and stayed alive by sheer willpower. Failing at detecting anything untoward from the initial scan, Epoch extended a hand in greeting, being polite but with the ulterior motive of gaining contact to do a deeper but non-invasive scan. "Epoch," he introduced himelf, "Mr Strong and Silent over there is Kodiak Zero, but we just call him Kodi." Epoch gestured towards Kodi with one of his tail halves.

He wondered what Kodi ws doing, the gruff bear exterior was completely contrary to Kodi's affable fun loving smartarse nature, it was highly unusual for him to not be sociable, even if he was scanning someone. Hell he was friendly to hostiles who could communicate with him, up to the point where he blew them to smithereens if they didn't either become unhostile or back down.

(ooc- no it' not a play on coke zero, Kodi is Epoch's mech, Kodiak-00 :P)

(OOC: Sorry, would have replied sooner but the site seemed to be down or something. At least on my end. But anyway, Perth eh? Awesomeness =3! And here I was thinking you were from the UK or something and yet when you mentioned you were going to Melbourne I was like "Hang on a tick..." and I also saw in your profile it said "Western Australia" so yeah, XD. Oh God, I can only imagine. XD! That's brilliant! And actually I consider myself a bit of one those myself actually. Or an octopus? That's an interesting one. Foxes are bloody everywhere, lol! *Long pause* Intelligent deros? They exist?! =P Seriously though, it all sounds good to me! Or at very least a worthy challenge! XD! Great to have you back by the way =3!)

There were few things Daemun cherished more than his guns and his prized bike of, as far as he was concerned, total awesomeness. Besides, Daemun had his reasons for being so close to his guns as those little babies had saved his hide many a time in the past. Nowadays it wasn't so much of a concern what happened to him but none the less his guns were his pride and joy apart from his trust mentioned bike. Heck at very least it amused Trajectory, right?

(OOC: I don't know why but I read that as "Disintegration parking spot" only to realize...I was being dyslexic...)

Slipping his trusty guns into their holsters respectfully Daemun turned at ready to follow everyone else and be directed accordingly. Apparently Starzone was in a hurry and it didn't take much for Daemun to sense this at all. Before he would leave the room however he made certain to do one more thing. Stopping beside Phoenix (assuming she's still in the room from what I recall) Daemun turned his head, looking straight at her and at first not saying a word. Then with a nod he simply said "Thank you...I owe you one" and with that turned to head out the door.

Later...

Vehicle Bay

So this would be interesting. The last time Derek and Daemun were in the same area together was...actually if you asked either when that was they'd probably inform you that neither could remember for the life of them when that was. But it was a while back, whenever that was, but there was that strong connection between Derek's 'darker aspect' and Daemun that didn't seem to fail to recognize each other at all. If anything Daemun certainly remember Sydonai, Derek's alter ego. For a moment there the two had stopped, looking at one another and just staring each other down in some unspoken greeting before Daemun finally gave a brief nod in Derek's direction, Derek responding with a nod in turn. It was a quick and brief little greeting but it provided evidence that they were on good terms and Daemun had aknowledged that there would be peace between them. An excellent start to the day/night/ever by any standards!

There was a part of Derek that got a chill from Daemun while another part of Derek was intrigued to find out more. For the moment though he tried to stay focused, not allowing himself to be overly effected by the whole thing. Still didn't stop him from giving off a light shiver with a quick "Brrah!" escaping him as he shook off the strange feeling.

"Man, nothing personal and all but that dude gives me the jeepy-creepies..." Derek said, leaning in a slight with his hand covering one side of his mouth as he addressed that line to Byte only to find himself suddenly surprised when he heard a voice in his head suddenly say "For the record, you give me the creeps too."

"How the f**k did he hear me from all the way over there?..." Derek asked out loud, to no one in particular, as he snapped his attention over to Daemun with a perked brow and some obvious surprise/shock combo thing happening in his expressions. Typically, Daemun simply smirked and returned to his duties.

It was then that Derek suddenly realized just how tense everyone suddenly was, Daemun seemingly unphased by it all though standing by none the less with his arms crossed as he watched everyone silently, his attention soon zipping over to Derek who just blinked at the whole situation.

"Well this is...awkward..." Derek began, shifting his eyes from side to side briefly before feeling Byte's squeeze on his hand. With his hold tightening a slight yet still being gentle Derek turned to Byte with a chuckle and a shake of his head, smirking confidently as he noted with equal confidence "Hey babe, relax, he's on our side, remember?"

"That's the trouble Derek" Daemun began with a rather serious expression, Derek turning his attention quickly over to Daemun and instinctively pulling Byte closer to himself in a protective/supportive manner "No matter how much you prove yourself-" Turning his attention to everyone else in the room now, looking at each and everyone in the process of completing his statement with a serious tone, Daemun continued "-not everyone seems to trust you or your true intent."

With that Daemun simply turned away and walked over to the other side of the Vehicle Bay. Derek was a little unsettled by this but at the same time...he actually felt sorry for Daemun all of a sudden.

"Well sh**, that was awkward..." Derek sighed, somewhat more so in relief than anything that things didn't get too out of hand. For now at least.

Heart

The plus side was that the transportation was a complete success. The downside was that there had be that destraction which interupted Mo'Kai'il's introduction which would have been far more professional had he not had to yell back into the portal and snap at said other on the other side. Though he fixed that error when he was done and hopefully all would be well from there. (OOC: XD! Nope, just your generic creepy Voodoo-esque sci-fi tribal staff =p. Though now I realize the other inspiration element in Star Fox Adventures and the staff which coincidently reminded me of Stargate as most that game does, XD!)

"Dats all depends on your homeworld" Mo'Kai'il replied with a bit of a smirk as he reached out to shake Epoch's hand. The moment his hand touched Epoch's own there was a seemingly instant flow of energy. Peaceful, tranquil yet strong as the greatest warriors of time. There was something very unique about Mo'Kai'il however not a threat to be present. Indeed, all intents were good.

"A pleasure to meet you Epoch" Mo'Kai'il replied with a nod, looking over to Kodi and addressing him in turn and at first Mo'Kai'il didn't say anything, a slight calm perk of his brow the only change to his expressions before with a chuckle he noted "Good to see you have such loyal companions."

(OOC: LOL! Probably a good thing considering the big companies are pretty uptight about their copyright but they make cool logos which would go well on the sides of mechs =p.)

(ooc - sorry, thought I'd replied earlier but I either didn't post or it didn't get posted or something weird has been happening to web hosts everywhere...or at least the ones my friend and I are using oO)

Vehicle Bay

As soon as the two "dark" ones had clashed, Starzone had immediately started playing the energy chords. It had taken her all of two seconds to work out that they weren't going to engage in anything potentially destructive, at least at the present moment. She had then continued walkng and gone to Streak, Trajectory not far from her as was normal. On seeing that Byte had visibly relaxed and Chase was a lot more relaxed, not that anyone would have been able to guess she'd been tense in the first place, just cross as she continued glowering at the youngsters.

Starzone and Trajectory, having been reprimanded by Chase, were checking over their bikes when Daemun delivered hs little speech and as he walked towards them (I assume he's going to see his bike which is parked next to Starzone's), Starzone looked up at him from the ground. She cocked her head, exaggerating the fact that one ear was perked slightly higher than the other, and appeared for a moment to look through him. She smiled. "You look much better sir," she said. His energy was a lot less messy. She could "see" skeletal wings at his back, which reminded her of Macabre, which then reminded her of his long, spiky digits penetrating her torso, which made her suprress a shudder at the memory. The thought that Daemun would give Macabre a run for his money was not a pleasant one.

Meanwhile, seeing as she had hold of Derek's hand anyway, Byte had moved her lover over to a completely different set of bikes. These were larger and more utilitarian in appearance, some no less formidable looking than the war bikes strategically located closer to the external door. "He may be nice now," Byte said in her normal voice, not so that the others who were out of earshot but not that far away in the grand scheme of things could hear, but by no means trying to overly secretive or discreet, "and he may have helped defend the Tir, but he did threaten to kill Commander Strike and Captain Flak."

"He tried to kill the commander?!" Tycho exclaimed, looking aghast. Byte grabbed him around the head partly to silence him as he had kind of squealed it, and being all of 10 still had a child's high pitch to his voice, and partly because it was her way of giving him a reassuring hug.

"That was before Ty. Commander's givin' 'im another chance and Starzi and Traj and Epoch think he's all right so we should trust 'em." She looked back at Derek seriously. "We protect our own. So stuff like that's not taken lightly. Some of us forgive, some don't, none of us forget." It was uncharacteristically serious stuff for the usually fun loving, apparently carefree Byte. Here the weight of the decimation of two thirds of the Tir tribes not terribly long ago in the grand scheme became that little bit more evident.

She blinked, and then flicked her tail, with the flick apparently pulling back the carefree guise. "Sparky put anything overly large on that list?"

Heart

(ooc: XD)

Epoch blinked at the warmth in his hand. The first thought that occurred to him was an almost overpowering memory of his father. It quieted him all the way down to the constantly suspicious part that had managed to embed in its core, a part that never rested and was wholly concerned with protecting his sister. This part was connected to ensuring the safety of the Tir as a whole, it was only numbed and not in an unpleasant or malicious fashion quieted due to its connection with that other node. If not for that Epoch might have been quite happy to have his mind completely at ease just for a little while. A few moments to not be paranoid about losing the last of his blood kin. To not worry about the safety of almost 2000 people, one of which was a childhood friend who had developed into the love of his life, who had not shied away when Darkmoon had (at great risk to himself as they foubd out later) brought him back from the brink of death but then been forced to concede to Retro's cybernetics genius as regeneration would have just killed him.

That protective node gave him enough awareness to not relax as completely as he wanted to in the presence of Mo'Kai'il. Although Mo'Kai'il was a lot more imposing and warrior like than Zenith had been. With his glasses (not that he really needed them, he didn't always use his eyes), his cane (which was of course a sword in dsguise), and neat presentation contrary to the outlook stereotypical of a mercenary, coupled with an incerdibe gentleness of personality, Zenith had always been easily mistaken for a scholarly bookworm until he got into a mech, or a brawl. He had always managed to come out of those brawls just as neat as when he went in, and if he didn't, there was a guarantee the opponents were in much worse shape.

It happened about as long as it took a standard handshake to be executed, but when it ended in the appropriate time and fashion, that last bastion of constant suspicion and wariness had Epoch feeling slightly surprised, slightly suspicious that Mo'Kai'il's attempt to set him at ease had been so quickly and efficiently executed, and how much he made him think of his father.

"Pleasure's mine, sir. We don't usually get friendlies dropping in." In fact all their friendlies these days were usually found and brought home.

Something was bugging Kodi. Still, their scans of Mo'Kai'il showed nothing malicious and the system before and after his arrival showed no change.

[]Guest is clear,[/i] he sent to Xu. To their guest, he said, "Blocks will be down soon and you'll be able to go on through."

Right on cue, Xu's face flashed up on a virtual holographic projector in the middle of the room, again completely unnecessary but more for comfort factor than anything else. Some people just didn't like talkng to disembodied voices for some strange reason. "Blocks down. Welcome to Tir Tairngire, sir," she said to Mo'Kai'il.

It certainly was a tensioned filled moment for a while there but fortunately Daemun had gained some level of control since his MindScape adventure and so didn't give in to the temptation to challenge Derek's "dark side" like some freaked out Star Wars moment. Though needless to say it was no doubt in the back of his mind none the less but right now was not the time nor place. Meanwhile though Derek just felt relieved that nothing happened and that it washed over so smoothly without much of a bump in the road to have to go over.

Daemun meanwhile (you guessed correctly, congratulations you win a prize! Once I figure out what that is, you'll get it! XD) went straight to his bike after his little moment of speaking his mind and was clearly without intent of having a conversation with anyone after that. He began inspecting his bike, who greeted him with a set of cheerful blips, to which he replied with a smirk and a "I missed you too..." and proceeded to check his pride and joy. He could tell that someone was looking at him, much deeper than just on the outside, and paid no attention to it. At all. Even when Starzone spoke to him at first he didn't seem even remotely interested in what she had to say...until she called him 'sir'. That grabbed his attention alright.

Straightening up from the other side of his bike at first Daemun showed that he was genuinely surprised at being called 'sir'. That was the first sign of respect he had been shown in a long time and it was...nice. Very nice actually. Looking over at Starzone now a small smirk creeped into his expressions, which was proof enough in itself he genuinely apreciate that, and with a nod he replied "Thank you Starzone. That's the first compliment I've had since I got here. There should be more like you around."

Meanwhile Derek had managed to overcome his little moment and snapped back into reality again as Byte tugged him over to a different set of bikes, turning to see them with a few lone blinks. "Well these are pretty" Derek smirked though that smirked quickly wiped away from his expressions as he looked at Byte another set of blinks at what she had said.

"Exactly, tried but didn't" Derek replied in equal manner to Byte's own, only a little more subtle about it, as he explained "He had a clear chance to do it but didn't, remember?" When Tycho suddenly squeeled out his reaction Derek's ears folded right back as he cringed at how much that f**king hurt. Oh and the fact that Daemun probably picked up on, which apparently he had though he only looked in the direction of the shout and returned to checking his bike with a shake of his head.

"Well now I know we don't need a loud speaker if we need to be heard...just get Tycho to yell for us and every planet in the solar system will hear..." Derek commented as he rubbed the inside of his head with his pinky, straightening up with his ears perked straight and taking note of how seriously Byte had looked up at him. Folding his ears back a slight with a serious sort of expression of his own, folding his arms and speaking from a bit of his own experience Derek gave his response and made certain to make his point clear.

"Sometimes all one asks for is forgiveness..."

That was rare. Derek hardly ever was that serious about much at all. But he had a good reason behind having said that and certainly was refering to his past in that. Byte probably was aware of what he meant, at least to some extent.

Pushing that aside for now though Derek checked the list, pulling out the PDA and skimming over it before then noting with a nod "Actually yeah, a few things. Looks like he wants some new Cyclone Torpedos, a pair of Mech knee buckles and a few mid-section gears for upgrade purposes. Other than that we're looking at pretty straight forward list with the usual ammo count and rations check."

Heart

(OOC: XD! Oh my God...the mental images to what a "Disintegration Parking Spot" could do and be used for boggles the mind and thoroughly amused me... "Fully sick b-" *FZZWAP!* "Broooo...what happ'in to mah car?...o_O")

Mo'Kai'il could sense this in Epoch, despite it being hidden or not, though didn't mention it for the sake that he completely understood his position. Though he knew nothing about him what he did understand was that sense of protection. That ever lasting, never breaking need to protect those you care for and those you are responsible for. Being a leader, a king of his people, it would be foolish of him to judge Epoch in ill ways because of this and so he simply accepted the change of energy. Though there was something more about it that raised his curiousity but again he kept this in the back of his mind, not wanting to pry. And especially not wanting to be rude and give the wrong impression.

For now Mo'Kai'il wanted only to establish peace and bring a solution to a problem that was quite the issue. That, of course, being the one involving Rav'una and Geiser, who were certainly meant for one another only that there was a slight obstacle right now that was preventing things from going any further. On top of any other obstacles that may be in the way however those would have probably been more or less taken care of with time and patience as in any relationship.

"Likewise and thank you" Mo'Kai'il replied in the end with a smile and a nod before turning to Kodi with another nod. "Affirmative."

He may be tribal-looking and all but there was certainly a professional level of military understanding you would expect from a leader, despite his background and such. After all there was a good bet that the Tir wasn't the only place he had made contact with for negotiation and meeting purposes.

When Xu then popped up Mo'Kai'il turned to her with a smile, bowing in grattitude before then with a straightened yet eased posture he replied "Thank you Xu. Where should I go to speak with Geiser?"

(ooc - the bike could if it wanted tell Daemun it's had a full check and change although it currently can't go as a couple of essential filters are clogged with sand and they're out but there's more on Derek and Byte's shopping list. And I have no idea what's up with the db server, more stuff to look into, yay :|)

He was being an aloof arsehole but Starzone was used to that from having one for a best friend. The fact that he suddenly responded to her politely and with what was possibly a hint of appeciation in his tone despite the smirk surprised her, and gave a little more weight to him genuinely feeling regretful over his past perhaps slightly insanity driven actions. She and Trajectory hadn't had a lot to do with the Mal'akh themselves (they see angels and demons as the same thing) but having witnessed Darkmoon's dealings with a couple, and listened to his stories on them, they had drawn the conclusion that the Mal'akh operated on a different kind of logic from mortals.

"As useful as they might be, we definitely do not need any more like Starzi, Commander Shade," Chase chuckled from where she had finished looking over her bike. Aside from Strike, Chase and Rexanor had been the two officers to appear the friendliest. Flak was, understandably, still scared, Epoch wary and who knew what Garnet was thinking, he hadn't said much either way. "Mount up kids."

The "kids" which included the two older rats that had to be at least in the same age bracket as Chase pulled on their helmets and mounted up. Starzone put hers on, leaving the visor open as she looked back at Daemun. "Don't forget Commander Strike wanted to see you, sir," she reminded him, and then touched the trigger switch on the helmet that snapped the visor shut, rendering her face invisible behind the two-way mirror of the mask.

Meanwhile on the other side, Byte turned towards Derek, literally bristling. Her hackles were up and her thoughts were so volatile her antennae were burning. Tycho cocked his head like he was listening to something far away, his eyes growing wider with fear. She looked like she was going to say something but then exhaled sharply, took a deep, slow breath to replace the expelled air and visibly relaxed. Her antennae stopped glowing, returning to their dull red colour, her hackles smoothed out. She listened with a neutral expression to the big items on the shopping list before arching an eyebrow. "Cyclone torpedoes?"

"Cyclone torpedos?" echoed Streak, wandering over to join them. He grinned at the two of them. "Your department."

"You gonna be okay without Starzi?" Byte inquired, her tone teasing.

"Jus' coz I'm better with her don't mean I can't do wit'out for a day," Streak said easily, though he did throw a wistful glance over in Starzone's direction. The recn party had mounted up and their bkes roared to life. The vehicle bay door had only gotten partially open when Chase led the way out, the five bikes forming up into an arrowhead formation just before they hit the still-lowering ramp, flying up it and arcing into space before gravity took effect and they dropped out of sight. The partially dropped ramp ground to an excessively noisy shrieking halt and began the laborious task of closing up again. It would appear that none of the combat bikers were averse to showy exits, or were that used to dangerous situations that waiting for the door to open fully whe they could just fly out seemed like a waste of time.

Byte walked over to the largest bike trailer, a voluminous contraption capable of holding four LAMs by themselves, that came with a protective desert camo canopy. It was, quite conveniently, attached to a hulking 6 wheeled caterpillar bike, the body of which looked particularly small and precariously balanced along the jointed axles of the large, deeply treaded wheels.

"This gonna be big enough you reckon?" she asked without looking at him. They'd been "official" for not even a day and she'd already managed to pick a fight. It bothered her in a way that had never bothered her before, she was used to stormy relationships. If he had been anyone else she would have without a second thought blasted him. The lives of her friends were no small matter. He had been there when Starzone and Trajectory had turned back to hunt down and take on Daemun, while the rest of them headed home. Maybe he didn't know that both had come back almost completely exhausted, and that Trajectory had had a sizeable piece of wood through his arm, that may well have embedded in his head or somewhere equally vital. And then both had had to crawl out from the relative safety of the depth of the Tir to help with the missile shower that Daemun had ultimately been responsible for, even if he had by that point switched sides and help them defend against it. Maybe he didn't think taking on a Mal'akh was such a big deal, after all he had creepy shadow demon inside him, or was creepy shadow demon, she wasn't sure how it worked and didn't really want to think about it because it made her head hurt. Perhaps the side of him that she was in love with hadn't yet thought up the conspiracy theories surrounding that episode, that tainted the minds of the rest of them. Maybe because of his relative newness he had an outsider perspective the rest of them would never have.

AEther

"Geiser is here with me," Xu replied, a screen flashing up to show the picture of the central console of the heart where Xu was, with Geiser still standing guard behind her. "You're welcome to port in at your leisure."

While Xu was speaking with Mo'Kai'il, Epoch glanced at Kodi and tried to fathom what was going on with him. It was extremely out of character for him to not say a word. It was obvious to Epoch at least that he had been paying a lot of attention to what had been going on, but the background proceses he was running had been enough to stop him from participating in the conversation. Keeping most of his resources focused on the present situation while Mo'Kai'il was still in the AEther and presumably about to blip onto MaterialScape, Epoch set some background checks trying to work out what Kodi was up to.

Still working on the glitch.

And gods, was it one hell of a glitch. No wonder Kodi had been so preoccupied.

(OOC: Well either way I think even if it did tell Daemun that he would still check on her anyway, XD! "But Daemun, I've-" "SHUSH! I'm checking you." "But-" "Shhhhuuusshhh-AH!" "...Men..." And I thought so, just wasn't too sure what the heck else to write, lol! I see what you mean. Well as long as we're able to post and such then it's all good. I just have to remember not to cut and paste, lol.)

There were a lot of aspects to what lead Daemun to his decisions in the past and if he couldn't forgive himself for his own actions then he hardly expected anyone else to be any more forgiving. But at least there was a hint of that he was starting to be given a chance and even a right arsehole such as Daemun couldn't help but apreciate that. So naturally Starzone's words were met with his level of gratitude and expressed in one of the only ways he knew how to these days. It was a simple gesture and situation that earned Starzone some major kudos and had her name bumped in the list of those very select few who made it to his good books.

Well, well, it seemed Daemun's day wasn't so bad after all. Surprising as it was he could get used to all the compliments and rank related labels that certainly tickled his ego but he didn't let it get to his head. Not much at least. Putting on a more professional and suitable attitude now that he was being refered to by rank, which felt like absolute bliss despite his past experience with such a field which had almost ruined his outlook on anything military and/or related things, Daemun turned to Chase with his arms cross and another smirk playing on his lips.

"Well if that's how you feel about it then I hate to break it to you but that doesn't quite match my view on the situation"

With Starzone then reminding him of what he had to Daemun turned his attention to Starzone now with a nod. "Affirmative" Daemun replied, hiding the fact he had forgotten all about that. "Where is he located at current? In fact establish communication with him and make sure he's free to see me now. I'd like to get it out of the way."

Meanwhile...Derek suddenly felt that he might have stuck his foot knee deep in a lot of shit after seeing how Byte reacted to his response. It was easy for males to forget just how intimidating a female can be when angered and that it was a mistake to push them in that direction. At all. But Derek was also god damn stubborn and was quick to rebel and stand up for what he felt was right.

But maybe this time around it was best he moved along...which after swallowing hard and letting out a silent sigh of relief that he just barely avoided...whatever he was in for Derek cleared his throat and continued on with the list.

"Cyclone torpedos" Derek confirmed with a nod, tapping at the screen a few times to bring up the information data. "Apparently jusy a fancy name for something that makes a bigger bang than most torpedos" Derek explained with a shrug before tapping into the main list and scrolling further down it.

Truth was Derek had simply over reacted and had focussed too much on what happened to him in the past that he found himself suddenly reminded on how he used to search for forgiveness. But what he didn't think about was the fact that what Daemun had done was far worse than most of the stuff Derek had done but he could still relate to him in having lost so much and gone through hell and back only to have to struggle to regain his title. Which he was only just doing apparently which was good for Daemun. For Derek though it was fortunately much easier.

Looking at the bike and studying it a moment Derek simply gave a small nod as he looked back down at the list and confirmed with a relatively blunt "Yeah, plenty of room..." and continued tapping at the screen. Apparently he was a little irritated but despite how much he told himself that he had no right to be over something that clearly should have just been left alone Derek had to hold onto his pride for the sake of not accepting the fact he was in the wrong. At least somewhat so. Byte had a right to feel the way she does and Derek had a right to his own view. But he didn't need to be so harsh about it. After all it wasn't Byte's fault that shit hit the fan in the lives of himself and others and so right now he was doing what he promised himself he wouldn't do. And a part of him kicked him hard in the metophiricle shins for that.

In short Derek was basically looking in on the inside from the outside and seeing only what the window he was peering through allowed him to see. So the bigger picture was hidden behind thick, sound proof walls and while he knew of some of the stuff that had happened and had caught wind of a lot of it through stories in the Mech Bay and such Derek still didn't know much about what actually happened and why. Still there was that side of him that despite everything had a soft spot for Daemun and maybe it was the fact that Derek too had a side to him that was often uncontrollable and took him a good while to get to where he is now. Even if there were still a number of fine tunings to be done.

AEther

"Affirmative" Mo'Kai'il replied with a nod "I will be dere soon."

With that he turned to those in the AEther and with a humble sort of smile he noted to all as a means to help ease the tension "While I have some urgant matters to attend to, if dere's any questions feel free and ask now. When done I will have to speak to Geiser. Reason I ask dis is because I sense plenty of tension here, yah?"

(ooc - *giggle* XD)

Streak looked left and right at the warring parties. They were being a lot more civil than he and Starzone had ever been in the early, turbid, completely messed up days of their relationship, but he recognised relationship tension when he saw it. Maybe they were experiencing a level of awkwardness from last night's cider driven shag, or maybe it was the extended sting from the first fight in a relationship you think is going to last forever. He hadn't known Byte nearly as long as Starzone and Trajectory had but he still recognised the slightly out of character restraint being displayed in the usually outspoken Byte and the usually (or at least the "usual" Streak had constructed in the time he'd known him) flamboyant Derek.

"I'm gonna go talk to Maj," he said at length. Byte stopped what she was doing.

"You're on Majestic?" she exclaimed incredulously.

"She's gotta be run." Streak didn't know a lot about bikes but he knew that much. "She ain't gonna run off. She was a bit grief struck last time but that's understandable yeah? She ain't stupid, she knows we gotta plan dese t'ings. An' she was prolly a bit too big for recon."

Byte looked over at the massive, formidable looking black chopper, two bays away from Daemun's bike where it had been parked on the other side of Trajectory's blood coloured ride Wired, who had been between it and the cobalt Anarchy. The gold hoop snake with the red eye that was the symbol of the Tir stood out on the tank against the black. She nodded thoughtfully. Streak strode over to Majestic, passing Daemun and his bike on the way.

The demon mouse made him nervous, as he probably did everyone else to some degree or other, but Streak wasn't one to show it. "Better after a nap?" he inquired politely of Daemun as he went to stand by Majestic, resting a hand gently on its tank. Majestic roused, not with the guttural, fat roar usually associated with such bikes, but with the well tuned purr of cared for machinery that actually had a muffler, and blinked its headlamp at Streak.

"So this'll fit the torpedoes plus everything else?" Byte spoke to Derek turned back to checking the various obvious moving parts of the vehicle, paying particular attention to the join between bike and trailer. The Tir were not terribly fond of convoys unless they were salvage related (and thus more or less unavoidable), if the shopping list was an extensive one they would have to do a couple of runs over a few days. Which wouldn't be an issue really, Byte's understanding of the current situation was that once the Tir stopped they were going to be stopped for a while, perhaps as long as a month. The thought of being still for so long made her as uneasy as the thought of constantly moving around might make someone accustomed to living in a building that was securely bolted to the ground uneasy. "And can you drive a bike?"

AEther

Epoch shifted, the only indication of discomfort. At length he said, "If you're stayin' a while, I might see you later. I'm in a different part of the Tir at the minute and have a couple of things to take care of."

Well there was certainly some tension in the air and it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out. It sort came out of the blue and was kind of ironic how it happened shortly after Daemun had walked into the room. Up until that point everything was fine. Perhaps it was that Derek was still feeling some slight tension in regards to Daemun which didn't help him think a whole lot of straight when he blurted out what he had. But then again Derek had the tendency to be rather outspoken and to the point when it came to...well...just about anything really. Normally though he was a lot more laid back about it and just shrugged off the uneasy side of things like it was nothing and let go of all that negative bull crap. This time around, however, it was somewhat different. Maybe Derek and Byte just hit a nerve and needed time to get over it. Or was it that this was the case for Derek more so than Byte?

In any case someone had to get over it and move right along. Trouble is at the moment neither Byte or Derek seemed to be willing to be the first to step up and say "Sorry" or at very least do something about this growing tension before it got worse.

Meanwhile Daemun took it upon himself to polish off his bike before he would decide to head off to find Strike and shortly after he was done, having stepped back to nod in approval of a job well done which was greeted with a grateful "Thank you Daemun" from his bike to which he responded to with a smirk and another nod followed by a "Anytime" was when Streak walked by him with his inquiry. Though serious in his tone and over all expressions it was simply the natural attitude Daemun had and really couldn't help as he turned to look at Streak.

"Much better actually" Daemun replied with yet another nod. "What about you?"

Daemun's words were short and to the point but at least they weren't the kind of 'I want to tear your throat out with a rusty butter knife' kind of words that he was so well known for ever since his...changes. Indeed Daemun was starting to prove that he was at least trying to change his ways. There was a part of him that was now naturally just dark all the time but that really couldn't be helped. It would just take some time getting used to it is all.

Meanwhile Derek tended to his own matters, trying to push aside the emotional aspect to things and focus on the job at hand. Taking a moment to study the vehicle once more Derek nodded a moment before then responding "It should. At very least it'll should help carry the bigger items and we can stash some smaller items in some of the containment holes."

When asked if he could ride a bike Derek's whole attitude changed, showing signs of the old Derek emerging from the ashes, and with a smirk, his arms folded and his stance confident, he playfully lectured "Maybe. Do you doubt that I can?"

AEther

"Well I had not intended to stay for long but I tink dis can be arranged" Mo'Kai'il replied with a smile.

"In da meantime I'd best be speakin' to Geiser. You just let me know when you be wantin' to see me, yah Epoch?"

Seeing that Daemun was in a hurry or at least had places to be, Streak nodded to him, touching his brow in a very casual Martian army style salute. "Good to hear. Won't keep ya." It was a good thing Streak tagged around with Starzone and Trajectory a lot, and had hung out with Darkmoon, possibly even a good thing he had been unexpectedly exposed to Lorus on a couple of occasions. It made Daemun seem a lot less intimidating, especially when he was making such an effort to be friendly.

Streak then remembered someone else. "Hey Ty, dis t'ing meant to go here?" he called to the child who looked like he wasn't entirely certain what to do with himself. Grateful to be useful for something, and wanting to check out Majestic, Tycho scampered over to Streak's side and the two of them began looking over Majestic.

With Derek confirming they should be able to do the thing in one trip, Byte nodded with a "Cool." She couldn't help but smile when he struck a pose when she put the question of being able to ride to him. Very difficult to stay angry at that face. "I donno," she answered casually, leaning against the large trailer with her tail curled into an omega, "driving one of these things," she tapped the tyre of the 6 wheeler with one boot, "is a bit trickier than your standard bike, specially when hauling this thing." She tapped the trailer she was leaning on, eliciting a "dong" sound from the empty metal vessel. "Can't imagine it'd be too much more difficult than driving a shuttle. Although..." she grinned devilishly, "...you did crash the shuttle."

AEther

"No need to change your plans," Epoch said. He had no idea what Mo'Kai'il's plans were, all he'd been told was that there was a visitor porting in and to scan him first. "We'll play it by ear." He needed to sort his head out.

"No prob" Daemun nodded back and proceeded then into the decision to go see Strike. If he could find him of course. Daemun decided that rather than running about and wasting time he would ask one of the people near by, to which he didn't address to anyone in particular but instead blurted out loud enough for all to hear "Anyone here know where I can find Commander Strike? I've got a meeting with him and I'm already late."

Okay, so it was typically gruff and blunt but in this sort of atmosphere that kind of thing should more or less be fairly common enough to be used to. At least for most, right? Unless Daemun had a creepier way of being that way which probably was the case even if he didn't really notice it. It was just natural, nothing much else he could do about it, if the case.

Meanwhile Derek was starting to put his charms to good use and relieve the tension between Byte and himself. If at all just a slight but fortunately by the looks of things it was fairly cracked opened to reveal the goodness on the other side of it. There wasn't much that left Derek dented for too long and he certainly proved that with his little response.

"Yeah...well..." Derek smirked, the backs of his hands on his hips after having put the PDA away for the time being and turning his attention back to Byte "I'm sure I can handle i- Hey!" Derek frowned, pointing at Byte with a unintionally comical react as he let his ego blurt out "I didn't crash it, I miscalculated!" Realizing what he had just said was basically like saying "I didn't crash it, I totalled it!" Derek paused a moment, folding his arms and turning away a slight with his nose raised and his eyes closed as he proudly stated "Well even champions have their bad days and that doesn't mean I can't drive. So there."

Ah Derek. If he wasn't so darn cute he would have been dead by now. (=P)

AEther

"Understood" Mo'Kai'il replied with a nod. "In dat case if you dunt mind, I'll be seeing Geiser but let me know when you want to speak wit me, yah?" With a smile and a raising his hand to his forehead in a saluting type wave Mo'Kai'il added "I be seeing you Epoch."

With that Mo'Kai'il moved his staff and 'draw' a line in the air behind him, a portal like the one he had entered through tearing open and stepping through he would appear where Geiser was located, the portal shutting behind him.

"You be Geiser, yes?"

(ooc - I had to reread the vehicle bay bit about four times because I kept losing my place laughing so hard at Derek's "I didn't crash it, I miscalculated!" :P)

Byte was forced to lean hard against the trailer or she would have collapsed to the ground helpless with laughter. It took her a good few minutes before she straightened some, barely managing to control her mirth down to giggles as she said, "Maybe...if you can shoot...you better ride shotgun." She burst into a fit of giggles again.

Daemun's query as to where to find Strike broke through, and Byte immediately snapped to attention, or at least to a more typically mercenary attitude over the teenager she had let herself slip back into. She tilted her head slightly, a sheen passing almost unnoticeably over her mercury eyes as she utilised her headware radio, and then she looked at Daemun.

"Commander Strike's in the Eatery, sir. He said he'll wait for you." She grinned, partly because she was still hopelessly amused by her boyfriend's antics, not to mention hopelessly in love, and also because the freaky mysterious Daemun having to ask for help made him seem a lot more genuine and a lot less frightening somehow. Ahh hell, she couldn't resist. Seeing as his back was to her and he had his nose up in the air so cutely, Byte snuck up behind Derek and tugged on his tail, pulling him back against her and wrapping her arms around his waist, snuggling into his back.

AEther

When Mo'Kai'il had stepped out, Epoch turned to Kodi, throwing his mind at whatever Kodi was doing.

"What is that?" he inquired, throwing the majority of his resources at the glitch. They were supposed to be full star training soon. Just because he would understand why they didn't make it wasn't going to stop Garnet from killing them.

Two sets of energy and no distraction solved the problem faster than on distracted focused energy. The glitch wasn't quite in the Tir's system. Epoch and Kodi exchanged an uncomprehending look.

"Xu..."

Heart

Geiser had completely not been expecting anyone to be stepping through some rift in space/time and appearing behind him when he took up the guard point, and when he was in interrogator mode he could always see what he was doing at least. He was however a ship engineer and not a mercenary in the stereotypical sense, and jumped a mile when he heard his name mentioned, spinning at the same time to face Mo'Kai'il with a very obvious startled expression.

He was just in time to witness previously unoccupied space filled with the impressive figure that had hitherto moments ago been a face on the screen, and a fizzy thing that looked suspiciously like a portal snapping shut behind him.

Geiser was immediately flooded with the nerves that strike when one is introduced to their partner's parents for the first time. Running on autopilot, he drew himself up and snapped off a Tir salute, right fist on heart. "Yes sir," he responded quietly, suddenly keenly aware that he wasn't the only one to have noticed Mo'Kai'il's unusual entrance. Every sngle one of the Heart's seven operatives (Xu made eight) had spun around and was staring.

"Typical..." Derek muttered to himself with a roll of his eyes, keeping his arms crossed and letting Byte have her moment of amusement. His ears perked when he heard Daemun blurt out his inquiry but even that wasn't enough to make Derek turn to see what was happening. What it took for that to happen at all was when Byte tugged at his tail, Derek in turn letting out a quick and high pitched yelp before a quick "Argh!" escaped him when Byte latched onto him as she did. That got him. Derek couldn't help but let himself laugh at this and giving in to the gesture as only one in love with another could Derek held Byte's arms lovingly with a shake of his head.

"Typical" Derek smirked "Just typical."

Daemun meanwhile observed this from his position as best he could and had a little smirk of his own happening and...omg was that a chuckle of amusement? It was! Wow, Daemun was showing genuine amusement for a change. What a record breaker! Keeping that amusement to himself though Daemun sent a transmission back using his own radio comm, smirking throughout his words as he replied "Affirmative. I'll leave you two love birds alone while I go see Strike."

Derek barely caught any of that with a perk of his ears and actually...it made him blush. "Eheh...uh...thanks Daemun..." Derek managed to peep up to which Daemun replied with a simple "Don't mention it. Daemun out."

With that Daemun headed over to the Eatery in search of Strike.

(OOC: Remind me again to be sure what Strikes rank was again?)

Heart

"My apologese Geiser" Mo'Kai'il began with a small laugh, supressing as much of his amusement as possible but allowing some of it to show through if for anything the sake of showing he genuinely meant no harm. "I did not mean to startle you."

Noticing that everyone else in the sector had also turned in apparent surprise to Mo'Kai'il unusual form of entry Mo'Kai'il blinked some at what he had caused, adding then "Or anyone else for dat matter..." with a small perk of his brow to follow.

Turning his attention back to Geiser then, taking note of the respectful and professional level and attitude in his response, Mo'Kai'il too saluted in his own tribal-esque manner with a clenched fist firmly placed over his chest and his posture straightened with a bow. Standing up straight now Mo'Kai'il walked over to Geiser and for a good moment or two studied over him, even pacing around him before stopping in front of him again with his hand resting on his chin in apparent thought.

"Hmm, I can't be saying dat I expected my girl to choose a mouse for her mate but I see great strength in you."

Another thoughtful pause later, which must have felt like an eternity for Geiser and possibly the others who apparently were staring at the whole scenario, Mo'Kai'il continued. The fact his accent was particularly more noticable could only mean Mo'Kai'il was in his 'serious mode', or better put his interogation mode. Not that he would be cruel about it of course but Mo'Kai'il had good reason to behave the way he did. Though he remained respectful none the less.

"Yaow know, I been tinking 'bout dis situation. I want you to tells me, what she truly mean to yoaw? How much wouchu be willin' to give for a life with my daughtah?"

Byte waited til Daemun was well out of the vehicle bay before spinning Derek around to face her. "Did he just laugh?" she demanded incredulously, her eyes bright. Then she looked closely at Derek. "Are you blushing?" She sounded entirely too delighted.

(ooc - depends :P he was a captain in the Martian army before he and Flak deserted, he's commander of the Tir but their "ranks" are viewed slightly different from standard military organisations even if the Tir itself is governd more or less by martial law)

Heart

Geiser stood in a relaxed at ease as Mo'Kai'il studied him. Uncertain how to respond to the first comment, whether it garnered a response or not, whether it was a compliment or a statement of thought, he said nothing, but being the modest sort dropped eye contact, staring hard at the floor in a mild form of embarrassment. He kept his eyes down when Mo'Kai'il put the question of what sounded like a price on a life together with Rav'una.

Again his head swam with the confusion of it all. The strangely blossoming love, the unnecessary guilt over a perceived betrayal of his long dead, still loved wife, the full knowledge that the guilt was unnecessary. If he wan't so socially responsible, if he wasn't one of two ship engineers in the entire Tir, maybe he wouldn't have batted an eyelid at the thought of skipping the planet to be with the woman he loved. Sure he'd miss his friends, and the extended family of the Tir, but his wife, his daughter, his unborn child, the ones that mattered the most he would always carry in his heart, and the heart could be anywhere. But the Tir needed him, and Rav'una's people needed her. And it was all too hard.

And something was wrong. He didn't mean to be rude but there was an odd silence from the central console. Geiser's eyes flicked up to Xu and he was startled to see one dark chocolate hand dangling limply over the arm of the chair.

"Xu!" he exclaimed. Mumbling a hasty apology to Mo'Kai'il, Geiser rushed to Xu's side, calling her name.

The Mind of the Tir was completely and utterly unresponsive. Geiser knew the basics of how to eject an organic component from a system and ran the necessary sequence before disconnecting Xu from the console and laying her down on the floor. She was limp and cold. He didn't want to be in charge. He glanced up and over the operatives.

"Xerox, you're driving." A lanky albino youth who looked in his early 20s bounded up into the central console, glancing at Xu's comatose form with a terrified expression. Geiser looked at him. "You'll be fine." Xerox didn't look convinced, but he jumped into Xu's chair and wired himself up. Geiser switched to headware radio. -Doc, Xu's down.-

-Down?- came Murdoc's slightly puzzled response.

At a loss, Geiser answered -Uhh, I think she's crashed. She's unconscious and unresponsive.-

-I'll be right there.-

The door opened and a cluster of mercenaries strode in, guns drawn.

(ooc: we're back in business! XD And I found out what the problem was too. It's completely and utterly lame, but try not to use the word "select", it seems to trigger mod_securtity sometimes)

Vehicle Bay

Derek quickly snapped out of his little moment when he spun around to face Byte, trying to hide the fact he was blushing but only making it worse which lead him to believe it must have been particularly more noticeable through his dark fur if Byte was picking up on it. Rubbing the back of his neck with a small and sheepish grin Derek began "I think he did, yeah, and...wait...what?" Derek perked a brow curiously at Byte, even somewhat surprised that she could tell, before with a clear of his throat and straightening his posture as best he could Derek began "Blushing? Me? Uh...n-no...my blood's just rushing to my cheeks, that's all..."

With a small pause Derek then asked with another perk of his brow "Is it that obvious?..."

(OOC: Ah, gotcha. Well I'd say he'd still be called "sir" then so that answers my question, XD!)

Meanwhile Daemun had made his way to the Eatery, scanning the area for Strike but for some reason was having a difficult time finding him. "This used to be easy..." Daemun muttered to himself with a frown "Then again finding Strike always did take a while..."

Heart

Mo'Kai'il had plenty of questions he would wanted to ask at this point but knew only a portion of those would make it into t he conversation. Matters were pressing and the importance of his decision weighed heavily on his shoulders. On one hand he was pleased to find that Rav'una found someone to genuinely love and want to be with for the rest of her life. But on the other hand politics got in the way and this was an obstacle that would be hard to over come. Fortunately there were options and where there is a problem there is often a solution.

Rav'una meanwhile remained where she had gone throughout the entirety of Mo'Kai'il's visit, having sensed his arrival a long time ago but out of respect, and something that ran much deeper, Rav'una did not leave her position. It wasn't that she didn't get along with her father. No, that wasn't the issue. The issue was in what decision he would make.

Meanwhile Mo'Kai'il's question would remain unanswered for the time being though he certainly could tell something was wrong with Geiser in the sense of finding the answer was concerned. Then the moment was placed on hold when Geiser blurted out Xu's name in obvious concern and Mo'Kai'il's own concerns quickly raised, his alert turned to high level and simply a nod was given when Geiser apologised. With that Mo'Kai'il turned to see what was happening and his eyes widened at what he saw.

"Dis is not good..." Mo'Kai'il sighed with a shake of his head before deciding to step up, posture straightened and his staff held beside him as he stood not far from where Geiser was.

"Anytink I can help wit?"

Byte giggled, the end of her long tail curling into a rounded upside down triangle which could have been a sort of love heart if she could be bothered putting any conscious effort into it, stood up on tiptoe and kissed Derek on one of those hot flushed cheeks.

"I'll drive, you shoot," she suggested. "You go get what you want from the armoury." She nodded towards a weapons rack occupying a good section of wall bearing some decent artillery, or at least various shotguns, rifles and handguns. "Ty," she yelled, distracting the child from where he and Streak were poring over Majestic, "go grab a handgun. HANDGUN."

"All right!" Tycho cheered excitedly as he bolted toward the weapon rack.

Eatery

Strike entered the Eatery not long after Daemun did, and saw the other mouse standing just outside the flow of traffic, scanning the room. He approached just in time to hear Daemun's muttered thoughts.

"Strike's good at not being found when he doesn't want to be," he said, smiling, as he appeared by Daemun's elbow. The two of them were facing the right direction to see the armed troupe rush into the Heart. Strike frowned, then checked his sidearm before bolting out the door and across the bridge that led directly from the door of the Eatery to the door of the Heart.

Heart

The mercenaries, taking in the situation, seemed to have decided that Mo'Kai'il was a good target and aimed at him.

"He didn't do it," Geiser looked up long enough to yell at them, then looked at Mo'Kai'il. "I don't think." The mercs by this point had taken up strategic positions covering the operators and the exit (they weren't to know Mo'Kai'il could probably quite easily make his own exit if he felt the need to). Geiser knew they wouldn't fire unless they thought it necessary, but he also didn't have the authority to make them stand down. He was, after all, just a ship engineer.

Fortunately it didn't take Strike too long to arrive in the midst of them. "What's goin' on?"

"You ride the waves and don't ask where they go."

(Post by Derek with minor edit by T for a problem word which was preventing posting oO)

(OOC: That...was the problem? o_O; How odd. Well great to be back in business again and have this role play up and running again =)! So without further delays, onto the long awaited role play continuation! XD)

Vehicle Bay

Derek's blushing only lasted a moment longer after that kiss before his confidence boosted back up again and his usual sense of pride returned. With a smirk Derek reached up to gently touch Byte's cheek before then with a wink he replied "You got it babe" before heading over to the area he needed to go to, having to stop to avoid being run over by a particularly enthusiastic young mouse along the way.

"It's not hard to tell you're excited" Derek smirked as he walked over to the weapons rack next to Tycho, grabbing a pair of pistols, a rifle and some other random need-have-items before proceeding to grab some light armor to go with it. Once he was done Derek was looking more like a soldier than a technician and oddly enough it suited him well. It's funny how some things just work. Derek decided that his usual attire may need to stay back here at the Tir and he would pick it up later when he needed to retrieve it. For now he needed to be protected and armed just in case and needless to say the neccessary technician items also were to come along with him. It would also be of little surprise that he chose something dark and matching to his type of style and personality to wear too but nothing that made him come accross anywhere near as dark as Daemun. Maybe it was the custom blue flame design that tipped the scales of impression.

"Derek ready and awaiting further orders" He noted into the comm device with a proud sort of grin.

Eatery

Daemun managed to spot Strike as he approached him, simply giving a nod with a slight smirk in his response. "Apparently he's also very good at it."

Shortly after that his attention snapped over to the armed troupe which and decided to follow Strike, immediately rushing onward close behind. Normally he would have shrugged this off and went elsewhere but there were two things that made Daemun follow. Firstly there was something Strike wanted from him, at least so he assumed, and secondly if there was something in need of attention Daemun had promised to help in such situations and so would be part of the team as opposed to just leaving it alone and staying out of it. Although that didn't mean Daemun wasn't still more of a freelancer than anything.

Heart

Mo'Kai'il immediately turned in time to see that he was being aimed at and immediately his instincts kicked into gear, his stance defensive but not threatening as he held his staff in ready to strike only if need be, his hand raised in front of him in a clawed manner as he warned, "I am not responsible for dis! You be aimin' at no enemy!"

Daemun stepped into the Heart shortly after Strike had but almost immediately stepped back as though trying to stay away from any of the components. He did so for a very good reason for if his moods were to change for the worst the energy changes would be a nasty hit on what became suddenly apparently fragile situation.

Meanwhile Rav'una had picked up on that something wasn't quite right. With a frown she stood up from where she was and immediately made her way straight to where she figured her father would be. Somehow, someway she managed to find exactly where he was, having to overcome a few obstacles along the way before attempting to push her way through the armed troops.

"Father!" She called out from behind the solid wall of mercs, frowning as she demanded "Have you all gone mad?! I demand to know what is going on here!"

"'Tis alright Rav'una" Mo'Kai'il attempted to assure her as he continued to keep his focus on everyone as best he could "Let dem do what they got to be doin'."

"If anyone harms so much as a strand of fur on him I swear I'll-"

"You ride the waves and don't ask where they go."

(ooc - new word that can't be used directly, "curl". I will need to investigate this soon.)

Vehicle Bay

"Rowwrrr," Byte purred in appreciation at Derek's new attire. She would have liked to admire the view for a bit longer but something else caught her attention. "Tycho! That is not a hand gun!"

Tycho looked up innocently from the weapons rack where he was hefting a firearm that was as long as his forearm. "It fits in my hand!" he protested. "And Derek's got one!" he added, pointing out the same weapon slung over Derek's shoulder.

"Derek is also bigger and stronger than you," Byte pointed out in an annoyingly matter-of-fact fashion. "The kick on this thing will send you flying." A smile crossed her face at the thought. "Stick to beam weapons." She took the gun and replaced it on the rack, taking down a blaster that was an average size wielded by an adult but looked huge in Tycho's hands. "And something more your size." Byte reached up and grabbed a utility belt that had some batteries attached, crouching down in front of Tycho and fixing it around his waist in a motherly fashion. Tycho on the other hand sighted down the blaster over Byte's head in a slightly freaky child soldier fashion. He retracted it to check the charge of the mounted battery.

Byte walked over to the bike they were going to use and double checked the attachment between bike and trailer. Satisfied that all was well, she picked up her helmet and looked up at Derek. "You're up top," she said, indicating the trailer. She brushed her hair back, put the helmet on, made a couple of minor adjustments then mounted up, guning the engine. It burst to life with the thunder of happy machinery before settling into an idle purr. From not too far away there was an answering rumble from Majestic, with Streak doing a great masked motorcyclist impression on board with the reflective visor helmet he was wearing. Tycho, having holstered his weapon, scrambled up into the trailer.

Heart

"Nobody is harming anybody." Strike's tone came out a little edged, which was going to happen when he was trying to speak in a gentle, reassuring tone to Rav'una and a more commanding one to his mercs in the same sentence. One of Strike's ears flicked backwards as the door slid open and Epoch preceded Murdoc into the area, otherwise he looked at Geiser. The two of them communicated silently over headware radio.

Epoch walked up to stand beside Strike, his silver cybereyes flickering as he glanced over Mo'Kai'il.

There was a brief, pensive moment where nothing much happened. The mercenaries maintained their aim but did nothing, and the Heart operators were too frightened to move.

"Stand down," ordered Strike. The mercs relaxed, dropping aim but not disarming, and switching into more casually alert stances. The operators resumed their duties, keeping a nervous eye on proceedings. Just because there was a "situation" right there didn't mean the Tir didn't still need to be run. Taking it as safe, Murdoc ghosted through the mercenaries with practised ease and headed toward the centre console and Xu. Strike looked at Mo'Kai'il for a moment wondering how to address him, and then decided that seeing as Geiser had previously mentioned that Rav'una was some kind of princess that the generic royalty title would do. "Your Highness, come with me please."

Epoch smiled reassuringly at Mo'Kai'il with the same friendly smile he's greeted the other in the AEther with.

As they were waiting for Mo'Kai'il to join them, Strike looked up at Daemun. "I'm really sorry about this," he said quietly, sounding apologetic, "but if you still wanna help fix the Tir, can you go see Captain Raven and check out the tools you'll be dealing with, and get back to me with a price?"
