**stomps around, Kleenex permanently attached to nose** I HATE MY SINUSES! Soon as the mate comes back, I am going to the ER, have them test to confirm sinus infection/sinusitis, see if they can determine the cause, get MEDICATED (maybe I'll sleep then... :/) and be able to breathe again normally... It's been so long, I've forgot what that's like... :(
I'm not waiting for the next open enrollment for the insurance at work, or til wee can afford the ridiculous rates at the doc offices for no insurance, I'll take my chances with the ER... :(
**noms Blade** My sinuses are TOAST right now, the doc couldn't even use that scope they use to peek in your ear to see and get a look because the sinus tissues are that swollen. But I got a steroid shot to try and force them to cool down, and prescrips... ^^; We'll see if they work... I hope so... ^^;
Don't feel bad! I've been offline suffering with sinus problems as well as bronchial problems! The first of the month was a night mare! I woke up at 5:00 A.M. and couldn't breathe if I tried! Went to my allergist since I had an appointment and lo and behold Doc's going off on MAT LEAVE FOR THREE YEARS! Didn't even know she was preggers! Now's a GREAT time to tell me! I shopped around for a new Allergist but it seems this is the time of year EVERY FEMALE ALLERGIST is going on mat leave! I finally found a new allergist but after the first appointment he tells me 'Oh by the way, I don't know if Doctor X told you this but I'm retiring on Sunday. This is my last official office appointment. I'm going to refer you over to Doctor XX to take over your allergy treatments.' Allergy Treatments? I don't even know WHAT I'm allergic to to start with! So I seen the new allergist and he says 'Did you know you have what is called inflamed sinus tissues and muscles? Which means you're not breathing through your nose properly' I'm like NO! REALLY?! I DIDN'T KNOW that already! So don't feel alone in your boat! I'm there with my husband and my brother and sister in law and my dad! We're all there on your cruise through misery-ville. None of us knows if it's allergies or what it is because we've gone through so many allergists and specialist we've just said 'I give up!'
I've heard of saline washes or rinses. That might help. (for the uninitiated or those who don't wander the halls of Walgreens, saline is ultra-purified water)
Ouch! Sinus problems are no fun. Take it from me, I have allergies that drive me crazy especially in the spring and summer. Sometimes I can't step out of the house without sneezing at least once or at least getting a runny nose because of them so I have to take seasonal allergy medicine to take care of the problem. I hope you'll be feeling better soon.
Thank you all! :) When I went to the ER because I'd finally had enough, the doc couldn't see up my nose because of how badly it was all swollen... Now, after a shot of corticosteroid, Nasonex and a 'cillin derivative, I can breathe again... Oh gods, I forgot how I SHOULD be breathing! And it's a laugh when you come downstairs, compliment the male half about the gumbo he's making, and he gives you an odd look while saying "I can't smell it yet"!
So now after not being able to smell for like ages you're hypersensitive? Don't go outside for a while if you live in a city XD Does this happen often?
Alas, I do live in a city (where, to keep from having to wash the female tree pollen off their Lexuses, they planted an overabundance of male trees, thus making it one of THE worst places for allergies in the country... ^^; ) and it's an indoor reaction to something... And no, this is a first for me, which is why I waited so bloody long... ^^; Stubborn and old... ^^;
Glad to hear your feeling better, DarkStorm Wolfsbane.
Thank you, Becky! I think my misery's a lesson for everyone... If it looks like an allergy, acts like an allergy, but is unresponsive to allergy medications and lasts longer than a week, get it checked out... ^^; You can stop it a hell of a lot earlier and easier than I did... ^^;
I'll keep that in mind thanks DarkStorm.

"Your brains, your bros, and your bikes?" Vandal asked.
"No, Hunger, Thirst, and never a bathroom when you need it." Jacket grumbled.
