Over the Easter weekend my friend who is near and dear to my heart got married and here's the breakdown before I get to my little rant.

Bride: Beautiful! Beaming! Jittery!
Dress: GORGEOUS! The dress of her dreams!
Make Up: Flawless!
Hair: Done up in her dream style: Beautiful bouncy barrel curls half up half down
Flowers: A rainbow of roses ranging from red for passion to pink for innocence
Church: BEAUTIFUL! Breath taking!
Husband: What can I say? He was GORGEOUS! WHOO, she's a lucky lady!
Reception: Perfectly coordinated by her wedding planner so that no one who wasn't on the invite list got in for a free meal
Party Favors: D'aww! They were so beautiful! Little wind chimes with multi colored prism crystals to catch and turn sun rays into rainbows! Too bad I can't keep 'em up in the window! Each time I put them up in the window and think 'These are beautiful! she did an awesome job making these!' Mother nature comes along and in one strong gust of wind like last week and down they come in a jingling heap.

OK so back to my rant, the ceremony was beautiful but then of course in every family there is one disgruntled relation that seems to think that she knows what's best for the bride and groom, so when the priest came to the critical juncture of the traditional catholic church ceremony where he says 'If there is anyone amongst the family who believes deep in their hearts and conscious that this man and this woman should NOT partake in holy matrimony, please stand and speak your mind and heart or forever hold your peace.' Four people two in each family instantly stood up and one said 'I take issue with this marriage! He's not RIGHT for her! She can do better!' The other three had to say 'Why is he marrying that TRAMP?! When he could have married Celia?!' Why oh why do people pick that moment in a beautiful time in a couple's life to start dredging up baloney about them?! Especially in a Catholic Church and especially when none of it is true?! Are they lookin for attention for their own problems?!

That really sucks because now such a beautiful day will forever be stained by memories of that. I hope they have a happy and long lasting marriage though and can put such petty objections behind them.

Let us just say that this family member is NOT invited to her sister's upcoming July 24th wedding and neither are the ones that echoed her sentiments. Thankfully my friend has low hearing and her husband is deaf in the ear that faced the direction the relation was sitting so neither of them heard what she had to say.
