Oh crap, so am I. If only I could remember my ff.net creds so I could wander on there and delete my godawful old stuff. Although the ones I've left on there in their unfinished forms aren't as ungodawful as I remember, though I should probably clean up the narrative language among other things. Can someone with a working account please tell me what my email addy on there is? XD

I can give you a history of RP as I remember it. I'm trying to remember when RP started, KLC (KLCtheBookworm) and Red Ogress (Mez) started the original Red Planet (the EZboard, hands up who remembers that?) sometime past 1995, I remember still being in high school but not sure if I'd moved to Perth yet. I was the third member and the first one besides them I think after getting an invite which I think they spammed to everyone writing in the Biker Mice section of ff.net :)

I recognise a lot of those names as a lot of them came through and participated in the forum at some point or other. KLC had her AltBikerMice site going already and I think the fics and art were going to be mainly on AltBM and RP was going to be kind of like AltBM's forum but not really. The fics and art got cross posted everywhere anyway (dA, ff.net, AltBM and RP plus the plethora of other fansites that cropped up all over the place by anyone that knew anything about making websites) so it didn't really matter. The forum was good because some people didnt post to ff.net or dA for whatever reason, just to their own websites or just to RP and AltBM, and they may have been hard to find otherwise.

I remember watching incredible artists like Midnight and Blackstorm developing their talents! XD And back in those days I actually had time to read fanfics. Some were awesome. Some...not so much :P

It was quite active from the roleplay to the art and fics coming through and people commenting on it, and there was a section for occasional off topic art and chatter (we still have the anything goes chatter forum but the current consensus is the exclusion of off topic art). A bit more active at the prospect of a remake. Then EZboard went and died, and between that and SC setting up v2 on a phpbb a lot of people gave up and/or moved on. We probably lost more when I ended up with it and made v3.

RP is now in v4 and comparatively it's very quiet though it's nice to see it picking up as more people fall over this site (yes I know I need to mae a dark on light alternative and weave some SEO magic, but at least we've now been around plenty long enough for search engines to count as as an established trusted kinda site). I don't know if it will ever get to what it was like before, but eh.

I was Torama from the EZBoard onward (and just stayed like that so people had something constant in the forum upheavals ;), am ShadowShifter on ff.net (and ryivhnn pretty much everywhere else).
